    Pros

Great office culture if you're in the right unit.

    Cons

Lockton pays its employees below market value. It makes up for this by throwing a lot of parties and giving employees a good work-life balance, but you have to accept that your paycheck takes a hit for being given a lot of alcohol.

    Pros

Smart people, good training, nice atmosphere, industry recognition and frequent events for charity and beer Fridays with strong sense of culture

    Cons

Cutthroat, lacking direction and micro managers who don't know how to communicate - feels like Big Brother is always watching

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Manager and team are incredibly knowledgeable. Culture and volunteer opportunities are second to none. 401k is the best out there.

    Cons

Income and bonus inequality between department and unfulfilled promises make for unmet expectations and high turnover. They will lure you in with false promises and then guilt/shame you into staying until you leave in tears.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring with promises of job duties/responsibilities you don't plan to actually give. Many of us were told the position would be going remote and haven't. That there was upward mobility- there isn't. That bonuses would make up for low pay-they don't. Unless you work in Construction- you won't get recognition or pay and we see qualified workers leave for better paying opportunities with growth potential everyday. Stop complaining about training people for them to leave. Start incentivizing them to stay

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, decent management, decent benefits. In general, it's just decent. Don't expect to be WOW'd, but don't expect it to suck either.

    Cons

Lockton doesn't provide tuition assistance. Lots of management only worried about profits and not their employees' well-being (that's business, I get it, but still...)

    Pros

Very professional and polished client team members in front of clients.

    Cons

Poor culture, no work-life balance, lack of true leaders.
Most managers of people here should not be managers.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to get your leaders to honor the role, teach and inspire the team.

    Pros

Good culture, a lot of young people, company reputation.

    Cons

Can be demanding at times, people stepping on each other's toes to get ahead.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, 401(k) match, maternity/paternity leave policy, company culture is very social

    Cons

Very old school when it comes to working remotely. You now must be a Senior Account Manager in order to work remote (maybe) one day per month. A lot of pressure is put on perfection and competition for advancement is fierce.

    Advice to Management

    Create flexibility with remote policy.

    Pros

Positive work place with great benefits. Classes and training available with lunch for free.

    Advice to Management

Communicate, listen and grow with your employees.

I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a private company they offer a more fun environment to work than a lot of public companies.

    Cons

It is set up like a franchise model so every region of the country is different in their capabilities, culture and management. There is a lot of pressure and little support. The people who run the show in Kansas City are great but they have almost zero input for what happens in the local offices. There is incredibly high turnover even though they will not admit that up front. The staff in general is either straight out of college or people nearing retirement... not much in between.

    Advice to Management

Enter the 21st century and get rid of the Good Ole Boys Club.
