"Lockton - the best place to work? I don't think so...at least in the LA office"

    Pros

Large company with a lot of people that provides a "REST AND RELAXATION" period for employees one day a month.

    Cons

Horrible management in the LA office. Senior management places people with no people and management skills in positions of leadership. Proclaims a motto of "our most important asset is our people" - what a farce... Most unit managers in the LA office are so disengaged from their underlings.

    Advice to Management

Start seriously taking the advise and comments of the support staff's review of their respective managers, and determine if that person should be allowed to be a manager.

    Pros

There are not to many pros with this company. You will meet a few good people but they are far and few inbetween.

    Cons

There main focus is on the diva producers. When the producers do not produce, they reduce staff by cutting the service managers who retain clients. They will lure you away from top notched competitors with promises of greener pastures but will never deliver. Be careful of the gossipers as there are many here and they will stab you in the back the first chance they get.

    Advice to Management

    Replace the whole management team.

I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

nice surroundings; some very nice people

    Cons

Sweat Shop - had to get out due to no work/life balance; a lot of politics, most of it bad; very cliquish- like your worst high school nightmare. Extreme favortism- everyone has a different deal (like vacations, flex hours, etc) Big disparity in salaries for same job

    Advice to Management

Start running it like a large company and stop pitting people against each other. You also need to be more transparent and stop hiding information. Make people feel part of the company instead of looking down at them.

    Pros

    7.5 hour week
    Some fun people
Can learn if you find the right person that will share

    Cons

Political and cliquish- you need to be in with the in crowd or you need to leave
Backward technology and IT personnel worst attitude ever- IT doesn't support IPAD, I phone and blames any issues on our personal equipment instead of finding a solution
Very low pay per the job offers I am getting

    Advice to Management

You have meetings with people under 35 and you don't follow through at all with findings or results. Nothing changes! What is the use of having a meeting? Do you think it will help with employee retention to throw us a party after work but disregard suggestions to improve productivity and the environment? You also have some real dinosaurs in management. They either should keep up with technology or get out

I worked at Lockton Companies (More than 8 years)

    Pros

If you're a guy and manage the politics right you can probably do well here.

    Cons

This company will promote and retain individuals in executive management who are known to have sexually harrassed employees. Management and HR will make examples all day long of lower-level associates who engage in harassment but when it comes to the upper ranks the behavior is a badly kept, dirty little secret. Management will say 'look around at all the women in leadership positions' as evidence of the company's zero-tolerance policy but the truth is that those women got there and stay there by looking the other way and keeping their mouths shut.

    Advice to Management

Keep this up and one day you'll get the lawsuit that you can't make just go away quietly.

I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits were good. Rolex after 10 years. Health insurance was great.

    Cons

No heart, you are not allowed tp be a human being. You are just a production number. Was let go for "performance", when my production rate was over 100 percent... no official training program at Affinity location. There was no encouragement or positivity on my team. Not allowed to ask questions. This was a very negative place to work.

    Advice to Management

Have a heart! You're working with humans not robots!
