I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good benefits, professional but fun culture, good winter & summer company parties

    Cons

Underutilization of agency management system, high expectations without adequate direction (produced result may not meet someone's expectation(s), but no guidance given on how to 'get there').

    Advice to Management

Use the agency management system to its potential, this would make it more possible to compare market data from client to client, and would make the renewal processes much smoother and quicker.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity. Lockton always looks to promote from within. The workload you're given is straining, but it allows for great opportunities. The culture here is un-matched. Work hard / play hard.

    Cons

Workload is heavy, can be overwhelmed during busy seasons. The travel can be tough as well.

    Pros

    Good pay, flexibility with time.

    Cons

Calling Lockton producer driven does not even begin to describe the firm. Very boring work environment.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Environment and entrepreneurial atmosphere.
Lockton does a good job of inclusivity with all levels of employees . Easy access to upper management

    Cons

Timeline promotions. They promote employees who do not necessarily deserve a promotion but because they have been there long enough.

    Advice to Management

Let your top tier talent advance when ready, don’t base promotions off of timing.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good compensation, generous 401k match, avg health benefits

    Cons

They pay well but hire few....meaning, if you're leading a "team", you won't get many team members to support growing enterprise. Results in getting stuck in your career.

    Advice to Management

Add bench depth to team....too few human resources to get job done well and grow the company.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, culture, travel opportunities, promotes job advancement, work hard play hard environment, pays for certifications and various licensing, great campus, Beer Fridays, wonderful people

    Cons

No tuition reimbursement/assistance, varying time commitments to the job, work/life balance can be difficult for some people, top-down transparency issues

    Advice to Management

Company decisions for the STL office need to be made regarding all departments. Upper management can be heavily one-sided in the way they handle their business, and sometimes leaves their employees feeling undervalued. Please keep in mind that any department that generates more than half of your annual revenue needs to be acknowledged and also heard.

Additionally, please offer more transparency to your employees - we can all read between the lines and its better to just “come out with it” then beat around the bush.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed my experience. Great culture, great people. Please continue to harbor that by taking the above advice.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lockton is really focused on being a great place to work. Clients are the top priority, but they realize it is the team doing that work that makes the client relationships successful. Great perks including beer fridays, great benefit programs, including the ability to work from home one day a week, wonderful company events, and a focus on community involvement and volunteering make this all around a great place to work.

    Cons

The SE series has grown dramatically over the past 3-5 years, and some of the growth has made it hard to keep up. It is a good problem to have, but sometimes we have not hired as fast as we should have. It seems this is better under control now.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and responding to our feedback. The increased communications, more frequent town hall and action on our feedback has been really positive.

    Pros

The office is beautiful and good location

    Cons

Outsourcing leader manages by intimidation. She rewards her friends and not the hard workers. Bad reputation and I'm embarrassed to call her my boss.

    Advice to Management

Fear is no way to manage people.
