    Pros

The salary is very competitive. Telecommuting is encouraged; thus promotes work-life balance. New employee onboarding process was organized and great.

    Cons

There is no onboarding process once you are in your workstation. You either sink or swim. Manager telecommuted most of the days in a week; therefore, no leadership in the Unit. There was no teamwork or camaraderie. Everyone will talk about anyone. That includes Managers talking about their own people in negative ways. Very low employee morale. Sadly, some employees will bear the stress because of good pay.

    Advice to Management

Be a positive presence. Be an advocate. Be a mentor. Be a leader.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time

    Pros

You are able to work on a lot of interesting clients who value the work that you do. Co-workers are generally great people to work with, and have a true sense of caring for each other. Benefits for the most part are generous compared to competitors.

    Cons

If you aren't a producer, you are a nobody. The company likes to show how much they are growing, yet wages aren't growing at same rate, employee count isn't growing at same rate, and reinvestment isn't happening into the business. Support teams are working long hours and sacrificing work life balance, only to make the producers more money.

Very political in which people are very protective with their "kingdom", and love to throw others under the bus, not share info, not collaborate, etc to protect their own interest.

    No diversity at all.

    Advice to Management

To attract and retain the best employees, the company will need to recognize that a completely producer driven model isn't sustainable without constant churn of employees. The executive committee needs to include more individuals from the agency side.

Company almost need to slow down a little to address issues, polish work products, invest in IT, and formalize processes before taking step forward.

    Pros

Great company culture. People are very friendly and, for the most part, easy to work with. Depending on your position, work-life balance is usually great too.

    Cons

If you aren't part of a brokerage insurance team, opportunities for career development and advancement are very limited. Depending on your position, pay is fairly below industry average.

    Advice to Management

Explore growth opportunities for those outside the traditional brokerage structure. Examine pay schedule for non-brokerage employees.

    Pros

They know how to talk the talk - they promise things to clients that they have no experience doing. The employees are nice - many lack true experience though.

    Cons

You have to learn to be con the client into thinking that you know what they are asking for. Many of us use google as a training tool. Very clicked - don't you dare say what you are thinking.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying so little to the workers and so much to Vice Presidents.
