I heard starting pay can be a little low, but it is negotiable.

    Pros

Fast paced environment that rewards those who work hard. Its an exciting time to be a part of Lockton the year over year growth is incredible.

    Cons

The work load is typically more than people can handle. More new talent needs to be brought on to give relief so more time can be focused on new accounts.

    Advice to Management

keep rewarding those individuals who strive to learn and do more to help the company grow.

I worked at Lockton Companies (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company gave perks such as fair day tickets a d the day off, a free dart pass or free parking, ice cream days, and other employee appreciation activities.

    Cons

Temp to hire assignment was suppose to be three months but after orientation we were told it would be 6 months. As a temp you are not allowed to participate in any employee appreciation activities. That department was very unorganized. It was a call center type job. Low pay

    Pros

Hours are great and there are plenty of training opportunities. All the resources you could possible want are in house. People enjoy working there and are always willing to help. Location is incredible. Great president.

    Cons

Pay! There is an obvious reason for early turnover. Pay is not competitive for the industry. Pay isn't competiitive for similar industries.

    Advice to Management

How much money do you spend on your talent development department? What good is all that training if associates are getting poached by your competitor? It is an incredble company to work for but it's just that, work. Associates aren't there for fun. They're there to make a living, a fair and competitive living.

    Pros

-Motivated professionals who clearly desire to work for the best of the company.

    -Good compensation package.

-If you are cut out to be there, you will never be happier. It takes a certain personality type. If you aren't happy here, you will be miserable. There doesn't seem to be any moderately happy people.

    Cons

-They expect that you will be motivated for the best of the company 24/7 all day every day.

-I never figured out what my role should have been there. They go out of their way to say that every employee is empowered to do what they think needs doing, but they never provided me with much direction as to what my actual job should have been let alone, how I should do it. And this was despite me having asked many times.

-Management is too eager to punish innocent mistakes.

-Some have described the place as cult-like. I don't know about that, but you do have to be cut from a certain cloth to fit in and work well there. There are some employees who have a slavish devotion to the place, especially to certain producers in the organization.

-Bad outcomes are NOT tolerated, even if t hey're no one's fault. If something bad happens, expect someone to pay

    Advice to Management

Allow for mistakes and work-life balance.
