I worked at Loews Hotels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked at their property in St. Pete Beach and overall enjoyed my time there. Loews is persistent on their standards and value their employees. For full time employees they give you two additional vacation days each year, free lunch, and have great travel benefits.

    Cons

Finding the travel rate between properties is difficult. Some of the other properties are higher priced (New York) to where it can be costly.

    Advice to Management

Overall a great experience and I would like to work for Loews in the future!

I have been working at Loews Hotels full-time

    Pros

Competitive compensation, excellent benefits, travel benefits for immediate family

    Cons

Standards are difficult to uphold when hotel is busy. Long hiring process makes it difficult to fill vacant positions, leading to staff shortages and poor scheduling. Have to work weekends and holidays. Poor culture in some departments

I worked at Loews Hotels full-time

    Pros

Excellent coworkers that knew the job inside and out. Convenient location. Plenty of opportunity to hop to other departments after your probation period.

    Cons

Indifferent management. Management (F&B) were not capable of helping when needed. They would frequently ignore advice or requests of servers that held vastly superior knowledge of Room Service's inner workings.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Spend a significant amount of time training in any department you run. Your title does not confer knowledge or experience. Put in some effort!

I worked at Loews Hotels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There really weren't any that's why I left the company.

    Cons

I was hired as an operator or a telecom operator. I was not told honestly about the stack of work expected versus the pay. Even though I was new to the company I could see the lack of respect that the management had for it's longevity workers. The high expectation if anserwing for many hotels at once for less pay then many hotels pay for one. I found out that the management team was from another hotel company that closed it's doors. After personally seeing how some of the employees were treated I see why that happened. I saw and heard a lot of disappointment from longevity employees if how much was taken from them. Perks pay and incentives only to given more work and left feeling unappreciated by the newer management team. I decided to look elsewhere. I found work making more then 10.50 an hour only answering for one hotel.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees. Appreciate those who have been with your company for years not always trusting new management instead. The company does have a open door policy on its books but isn't being honored. Start weeding out troubled management and stop blaming the employees for huge turnover.
