I have been working at Loews Miami Beach Hotel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They feed you in the cafeteria, food is usually pretty tasteless and inedible however.

    Cons

They make the restaurant severs work 10-14 hour shifts every single day. Never in my life have I worked at a restaurant that forces you to work double shifts everyday, no questions asked. We aren't paid overtime so they keep you for at least 10 hours every single shift, even when there is no business because they fear "a large group staying within the hotel may hit the bar late at night". This is a rare occuramce and if they hired bartenders that were actually talented hard workers guests hitting the bar late wouldn't be an issue. Restaurant isn't managed or staffed properly. Extremely high turnover because it's an awful place to work (bar Collins). I'm a server there currently looking for work elsewhere. It could be a great company but management is the absolute worst!

    Advice to Management

Hire dedicated lunch and dinner severs. Have two separate shifts rather than making severs work both lunch and dinner from 2pm- 1am. It's ridiculous the way you treat us like livestock rather than human beings. Very shameful on your part.

    Pros

    -great benefits
    -employee appreciation days
    -paid vacation
    -great location

    Cons

    -stressful environment
-very hight standards that you need to follow
-lots of managers abuse their status; eat and drink in the hotel very often.
-favouritism is very common for the F&B junior managers.

    Advice to Management

You should encourage and praise your employees instead of always try to aggressively push them to go above and beyond. Senior F&B management should oversee floor managers more.

Free food all day, and eat all you can, Cafeteria opens 24/7 go in there and eat snack 24/7. Imagine if you had to be running in south beach looking for food. I love what they did here to help their employees. Loews cares about those ho work for him. it is a family environment and everyone is so professional.

    Cons

The is not a thing i hate about the Loews...if you want to meat Supper stars that is where they always come. I love my job, and the place.

    Pros

The company itself works to make their employees happy. The benefits are pretty good as well.

    Cons

Cronyism. If you don't make the right sort of connections, it can be difficult to progress upward or go to another dept.

    Advice to Management

Please look at employees more objectively based on performance and potential rather than how much you like them personally.

I have been working at Loews Miami Beach Hotel (More than a year)

    Pros

great place to work because of the people that work ther.e and the great job environment they create.

    Cons

its south beach traffic sometimes is heavy both going and coming from work, and parking is expensive.

    Advice to Management

get cheaper parking for employees, and offer people that are already in the working the opportunity to move up instead of getting someone from outside to do the job u can do.

I worked at Loews Miami Beach Hotel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to have on your resume. Huge opportunity for growth. Competitive salaries.

    Cons

Somewhat cold work environment. Management is a mix of those who really care and those who pretend to care. Very high expectations but little support to achieve goals. Very black and white corporate setting. Long hours of work for managers making it difficult to have healthy work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to invest more time in supporting middle management and supervisors. The overall feeling among leadership team members is that you do not count unless you are a director. Loews (Miami Beach) talks the talk about caring for their employees, but does not walk the walk.

    Pros

Hours are decent. It's in miami beach

    Cons

The workers can be immature, pety, and disrespectful.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional, and stop having favoritism among the workers. Treat others with respect and learn how to handle conflict well.
