I have been working at LogMeIn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good culture, employee appreciation seems good in terms of promotions, fancy office in Boston and did a good job with the merger earlier this year.

    Cons

Post-merger with Citrix's saas division, management made a bad decision of moving most (if not all) of the product development teams to Budapest from areas like SF Bay Area and Santa Barbara that are supposedly known to be the "Mecca of tech".

Not ready to adapt the valley culture yet, avoiding investing as much as possible in CA saying "it's expensive!" Salaries are not competitive. Bonus plan is bad. There's no ESPP for the employees and they incorrectly put that on the careers page which is misleading. Maybe a great company from Boston or Budapest teams' perspective, definitely not for SF or SBA.

    Advice to Management

Please don't have the "nickel and dime" mentality, it will prove costly. The more you spend on the talent, the more returns you get in terms of product quality and innovation coz honestly the company is not up to the mark in terms of technical skill-set or exceptional talent.

When you decide to merge with a company that has a significant number of employees in California, you need to accept that fact and behave like a company that has a big presence in the valley. I hope there will be some change in the "attitudes" of the management and they stop thinking that "investing in Boston or Budapest is less expensive than CA" as it'd be too late by then.

I have been working at LogMeIn full-time

    Pros

While I am still relatively new to the organization, I cannot imagine working at a company where I would feel more enpowered and engaged. Both people managers and individual contributors are enpowered to make decisions and act on them. It allows for employees to move quickly to get their jobs done in the manner they see fit. I am super impressed with the level of engagement and motivation at the company. We have so many bright, talented and hard working employees. And this is just a fun place to come to work everyday!

    Cons

There are none that I see!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and preserve the best parts of our new combined organization.

I have been working at LogMeIn full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    So many good people
Great office spaces and employment perks
    Great technology and products

    Cons

    Failed merger integration leadership
Screw the customer to hit the numbers mentality since close of merger
Bad strategy (failure to understand the challenge, incoherence, lack of focus, etc.)
Chaotic decision making and follow through
Very little transparency (and poor communication generally)

    Advice to Management

Be open and curious and data-driven
Be honest about what's working and what's not
Do not accept vague platitudes as strategy
Be cognizant of external factors (e.g., competitive landscape) when making decisions
Adapt the "way of working" to the new reality
Make a serious effort to combine best of both

I worked at LogMeIn full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers - we all worked our butts off to try and make the changes/requests we'd receive from management all while trying to keep a positive attitude

Fun atmosphere - young culture which brings energy and fun into all work activities

Ability to travel abroad to different offices multiple times

    Cons

Management lacked guidance and strategy - we were often just rushing from one fire drill to the next without really knowing why

Don't understand the value that some of their employees bring to the table - I worked with a lot of very smart people who were undervalued & unappreciated at times

    Advice to Management

When I joined LMI in 2014 it was a great place to work, but the last 6-8 months of employment were brutal and exhausting with the lack of strategy, insight and guidance on what we should be doing from a product perspective. Provide your teams with the visibility that you keep promising, but never deliver.

Don't just focus on this years shiny object, there was a lot of wasted budget, time and energy put into things that brought nothing to the table because we were not strategic.

I have been working at LogMeIn full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Office location has always been nice but I've been here in the Tempe, AZ office since Citrix.

    Cons

The most recent merger has been exciting to most of the office as we have been expecting change once this was complete but nothing has happened. Our entire sales office here has struggled for years with not 1 team ever hitting quota in the 3 years I've been here. Morale is horrible and people are leaving left and right even to make less money just to get out of this loosing environment. We need real leadership in here to help us get better and to actually come in to the office. When they decide to come in, come out of their office once or twice a day and teach us something. I haven't had a training in 2 years! No development no success and no money to be made here. Logmein this location needs a maker. Just look at the numbers!!

    Advice to Management

Bring in actual leaders that know what they are doing and care about the business. Right now they are all a joke and the entire office knows it. When a person fails it could be on them. When a team fails quarter after quarter it's a leader. When the office fails quarter after quarter! Year after year and no changes are made by the company? Tell me where I sign up for the position!
