I have been working at Logan Aluminum full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many companies tout having a "team concept" work environment, but at Logan they truly mean it. Love the family atmosphere where employees actually care about one another. Lots of expansion going on. Feels good to be part of a growing company. It's not unusual to see people who've worked at Logan for 20, 25, or 30+ years which is rare these days.

    Cons

Located in a rural area but reasonable driving distance to larger communities.

I worked at Logan Aluminum full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good pay and mediocre benifits

    Cons

good ole boy club, rotating schedule, bureaucracy, tons of extra crap that management handles at normal companies.

    Advice to Management

abandon the star points and stop making operators handle personnel issues. The self managed teams bully employees and often sabotage new employees. Many teams end up like a real live Survivor show

I have been working at Logan Aluminum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best team environment I have ever worked in. Upper Management truly gets it .... dollars are made producing product not by attending meetings in offices all day long.

    Cons

Still too many meetings. Recommendation is less time in meetings more time of the floor helping production employees solve important problems.

I have been working at Logan Aluminum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture at Logan stands out amongst other manufacturing companies. The work system utilizes self directed work teams that truly creates employees who behave like business partners. This is from the top of the organization all the way down to the entry level.

The pay and benefits are as good or better than other similar types of manufacturing plants.

The management does a great job of allowing the teams to run the business.

Logan consistently promotes from within, and does not play favorites. If you perform well in your job, you will be considered for promotions.

There are lots of expansions occurring which is creating new jobs and promotional opportunities for many.

    Cons

The location is not ideal, but within 30-40 minutes of a couple moderately sized cities.

    Advice to Management

Don’t lose sight of what has made Logan so special over the years.

    Pros

The team concept, feels like a family, they care, many opportunities for self growth, respectful, education assistance

    Cons

Swing shift for some, team concept (can be a pro and con)

    Advice to Management

I think Logan should go back to 100% pay of college education.

I have been working at Logan Aluminum full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    1. Everyone is like family. We spend a lot of time together at and outside of work.
    2. Logan promotes leaders from within. A lot of opportunity of advancement.
    3. You are not limited to a narrow range of work. We have a lot of freedom to learn and work in multiple areas.

    Cons

The only con would be swing shift if you are an operator or maintenance person.

    Advice to Management

Continue to manage the company with the Team Concept, we were founded on, in mind.
