I have been working at LogicaCMG full-time

    Pros

    Advice to Management

    Training

    Pros

Logica has a very good work/life balance and allows employees opportunities to work from home if you are miles away from the office.

    Cons

Very little training is offered and there is no career path that is followed. Management has little involvement in helping lower level employees expand and grow their careers.

    Advice to Management

I wish Logica was able to provide more opportunities for internal growth within the company and provide a logical career path for employees to follow. I don't feel like many of the consultants are recognized for the work they do and very little attention is given to up and coming employees. You have to give employees the opportunity to grow or they will not stick around long.

I have been working at LogicaCMG (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to transfer to other areas of the business or overseas
    Travel
Expenses always paid on time in full
    Flexible benefits scheme
    Good benefits package

    Cons

Very different cultures depending on where you work.
I applied for flexible working arrangements several times which I felt could have been accommodated but they were turned down which led me to apply for voluntary redundancy eventually.
At the time there seemed to be constant restructuring and a high turnover of senior management.
Not a particularly supportive or encouraging culture, little emphasis on training and personal development. Very few female employees. Promotions, pay rises, bonuses and good roles offered on a 'who you know' rather than 'what you know' basis.

    Advice to Management

Look after your employees more. Anyone who is really worth employing leaves. External recruitment process is poor experience for candidates. No responses to applications etc

I worked at LogicaCMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun environment with quite a lot of young people. Many disparate locations. Lots of travelling possible in the job.

    Cons

Lots of travelling on the job which people may not like being on customer site for long stretches of time away from base office

    Advice to Management

Big much point in advising anyone of anything now that the company is defunct dollowing a merger too many. That's what I'd advise if I was a time traveller / don't do yhose last three mergers.

I worked at LogicaCMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The internal organization of my department was one of the best, with very well defined competencies and a project manager always present and attentive to our needs.

    Cons

Job was boring and repetitive, no new technologies and no opportunities for growth.

    Advice to Management

Try to give people more chances to switch from one project to another so to be able to learn new things and avoid to get bored.

I have been working at LogicaCMG full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Being a Europian organisation it's very good for Worklife balance. Has very Good oppoturnities. The , environment is quite good. One has good chances to get the role of own choise depending on your experience level and attitude.

    Cons

Like any other organisation you get to see the Political environment and honestly one can't escape from it. Not much of transperancy in the appriasl process.

    Advice to Management

Transperancy is talked but need more efforts to show that it is implemented.
