I worked at Logical Imagination full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you love technology and solving day-to-day problems for businesses, this is the place to be, especially if you like to train people. You will always stay on the cutting-edge of development techniques, design trends, software, etc. You have the freedom to innovate, but I have never been held to such a high standard without being told. You just know that you have to be good. I enjoyed the variety. No two days were alike. Literally, you are learning constantly.

    Cons

This environment isn't for everyone. You have to enjoy switching gears frequently. One day you might be working on a development project, the next day a training project, the next day a consulting gig. And all of them may be in completely different technologies. You need to enjoy wearing multiple hats and that isn't for everyone.

    Advice to Management

No advice, really...maybe to relax the pace a bit more, if anything.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Good at what they do. Staff is knowledgeable and experienced. Lead developer is probably one of the best in the industry and can handle projects of any size within time and budget. Does not micro-manage.

    Cons

Owner is not patient with clients and tends to over react when clients offer any sort of criticism (constructive or otherwise). Owners form fast, and mostly wrong, opinions about employees, clients and situations. Does not offer constructive feedback. Fails to pay wages on time or as agreed. Owner has a raging temper that off-sets an otherwise decent demeanor.

    Advice to Management

Be civil with your discourse, both to clients and employees. Yelling, swearing, and holding unnecessary grudges tends to lower morale and make it a stressful place to work.

  3. "Family Work Atmosphere, Fun Environment, High Expectations"

    Pros

Small, family-like environment, lots of opportunities for personal and professional growth, 100% paid health insurance, lots of freedom to work (not micro-managed, but you better be good!)

    Cons

Owner sets high standards and has high expectations. Not everyone can handle that level of pressure. If you want to sit on your butt and collect a paycheck, find another employer!

    Advice to Management

In my time at Logical Imagination I watched quite a few people come and go who couldn't cut it, and they were usually sales reps who couldn't produce and were complete slackers.
