I have been working at Lombard Odier full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be conditions of employment (salary, environment, stability). But this is definitely a thing of the past...

    Cons

Management has not found a plan B following the end of banking secrecy. Since then, the company is going down the drain. Employees are treated like sh.t and brutal layoffs occur little by little every month in order to avoid the headlines in newspapers. Remaining employees' morale is very low as they don't know what is going to happen to them in the years to come. In fact they know too well... Historic partners from founding families are leaving and a new generation of ruthless partners are replacing them whose only interest is the short term ROI. New IT development center was open in neighbouring France with the intent of replacing expensive Geneva-based staff by french labour (cheap and young). And operations/production activities are likely to be shipped to Luxembourg.

    Advice to Management

Realize that you are destroying a respected 200-year-old company. But you probably don't care : you are only interested in squeezing it as quickly and as much as you can.

I worked at Lombard Odier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lombard Odier lives its core value. They have so much experience more than 200 years and track record they do not need to create the brand. The employees there are really nice people with a close family feeling.

    Cons

Because it is a family run business, the dispute among family members effects all employees directly. Things change in a dramatic way and hence lacks stability in the working environment. Successor are not always great managers.

    Advice to Management

Really need to identify a good manager to run the business successfully.
IT is crucial than ever to cover the lack of resources.
