I have been working at London Overground Rail Operations full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good salary, lots of time off, really good benefits, thirty four hour week, uniform, career progression and great pension.

    Cons

Can be boring, sometimes a lot of driving due to working diagrams, having to concentrate for long periods of time with no other working colleagues present, shift working patterns and being disciplined to follow strict rules, procedures and company policies.

    Advice to Management

Great career prospects, I absolutely love this job, but driving a train can be physically and mentally tiring so driving for long periods of time with minimum breaks can be dangerous for the company, passengers and myself the driver.

I worked at London Overground Rail Operations

    Pros

There are many pros. Very reputable company with great customer satisfaction. Free TFL travel with staff pass. Rail Pension scheme. PRV card to get discount on rail travel. Excellent pay and 1 and 3/4 pay on sundays.

    Cons

Railway industry therefore a lot of backbiting even amongst men. The colleagues will try their best to push you out so they can get overtime as everybody fights for work on Sundays as it is nearly double pay. A lot of unnecessary gossip and stirring. Management only cares about KPI and does not make time for you for anything. Gateline is difficult when standing all day. Old employees bully the new employees and are very...

    Advice to Management

Management should be available at stations incase there are disruptions or problems but they all sit in their office away from the station. Management needs to build rapport with their staff so the staff don't feel like they have no one to turn to regards to all the problem that occurs on everyday basis.
