I have been working at London Stock Exchange Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pension is good. Buildings in good locations. Nice name for the CV.

    Cons

Management is basically whoever has been there longest, no matter how incompetent.
No difficult decision will ever be made. That's great if you're incompetent as they will never sack you. But it's terrible otherwise as you have to do other people's job for them and you have to deal with clients who've been promised everything yesterday for free.
They make a lot of promises at interview but ultimately you'll be stuck in a stressful job with long hours dealing with other people's mistakes and the money isn't good enough to compensate for that.

    Advice to Management

    Cull the middle managers.
Stop promoting people because they've been here a decade.
Increase staff turnover is the only way to remove dead wood.

    Pros

Lots of interesting technology projects ongoing around many areas in the business
    Generally friendly colleagues
    Fairly flat hierarchy
    Easy and good work/life balance

    Cons

A lot of senior and middle managers who are there just by virtue of being at the company for a long time
Poor remuneration compared to similar roles at specialist technology companies

    Advice to Management

Senior management should really look closely at their middle managers and make the necessary changes to improve employee motivation
