    Cons

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees fair... Way to much favoritism .

    Pros

Comp is good and up to par with market values. Goals are clear, achievable, realistic. Leadership is open minded. Good work-life balance - excellent really. Great benefits.

    Cons

Their niche market is rapidly aging and losing their purchasing power. Yet the company struggles to adapt to younger generations and develop / innovate product to appeal to these new types of customers.

    Advice to Management

Keep protecting the Longaberger culture in the face of adversity - it's the best culture ever, and definitely worth fighting for. And - innovate, think young and technology!
Adapt to market requirements, even if it means more offshoring to stay competitive or to try new product with less risk.

I have been working at Longaberger full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

As a basket maker you're pretty much your own boss. You can make the minimum amount or much more. It's all up to you.

    Cons

The company seemed to keep adding more and more responsibilities to the basket maker without increasing the compensations to make it worth the trouble. It was hard to make the money that you were used to making.

    Advice to Management

Management was constantly changing. As they were trying to cut back on expenses they got rid of the management that was making the most money regardless of their quality of work.
