I have been working at Longos full-time

    Pros

Great opportunity if you work hard. Customer service is number one priority. Good attitude with customer and fellow employees make it fun to work here.

    Cons

Some negative and intimidating people cause unnecessary trouble.

    Advice to Management

Coach managers before problems get out of control. Aim should be to encourage growth of problem areas not to get rid of people!

I have been working at Longos full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Very friendly environment to work for
    - Everyone treats you like family
    - Long term relationships are developed with customers which make coming to work that much better
    - offer many training for development such as their DMT program and Leadership Program
    - easy to move up in the company

    Cons

With many new stores opening, managers are moved around a lot. Which can be good for someone who likes change, but becomes challenging when one of those managers are your mentors.

    Advice to Management

I hear "who's that" a lot from my team, so my advice to upper management would be to introduce yourselves to the clerks and say hello so that they can put a face to the names they hear.

I worked at Longos full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The raise is yearly, bonus almost every year, benefits are not bad

    Cons

Management expects too much work to be done from as little people and hours possible, store managers don't respect employees, some of them spy on employees, threat employees, tell them that they are nobody in the company. Hours are cut more and more every time you get raise. Expectations are over the top. They overwork employees and expect them to smile and be happy. Customers are rude and obnoxious.

    Advice to Management

Be less of a manager and more of a human!

    - Hard to become full time
    - Repetitive
    - Managers can be very harsh over little mistakes
    - You will lose your personal life

I have been working at Longos full-time

    Pros

Longo's considers internal and external applicants as part of their Corproate recruitment processes however with a strong hire from within philosophy it is exciting to see many entry level roles filled by internal applicants and referrals.

    Cons

Highly technical and specialized skills challenging to find internally but that's ok because we welcome new team members to the family regularly as well.

    Pros

    Cons

i would highly recommend not working for this place. its really terrible and a lot of pressure and the management and supervisor treats you like garbage . Just to get the work done. If you are thinking of working here. Forget it. Any place is better than this place
