I have been working at Longview Independent School District full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay, lots of holidays, technology driven, great co-workers, friendly and mostly peaceful environment, great district for both students and employees

    Cons

Things can become political during the school year; there are some administrators/employees that need to retire and make way for more innovative minds

    Advice to Management

Hire individuals with talent and passion instead of focusing on the years of service

Life is short make the most of a good thing and when it gets to be about success and money take a step back and see where you have come from and remember why you took the job in the first place, what your goals were then and what they are now. If they are extremely apposite take time to reflect and see where you want your future to proceed.
