    Pros

    I have very much enjoyed my time at Longview. I have worked for 3 major corporations and find very few negative elements from Longview. These are only the start of some of the reasons why I love my job here and have no plans or considerations to leave. I could list so many more, but these are my top reasons.

    Support from management for work life balance
    Support to achive and excede goals set for us
    Opportunities to show skill, involvement on teams, open to discussions of options and ideas
    Supportive to growth with in company
    Solid benefits

    Cons

    Being in a satallite office we do not get some of the perks the HQ offices have. Of course not all personalities mesh, but where will they? I honestly have seen very few cons. I do have to say I do have a laptop that is slower than a snail and have no hopes of a new ones anytime soon, besides that I can not complain.

    Advice to Management

    The management team has done a great job thus far, I look forward to continue my time here at Longview and enjoy the time I have been here. Keep listening to the employees and keep the communications open with in the company.

    Great product; excellent technologists; professional services

    Leadership needs to be more innovative and devote more resources to sales; limited in career growth and advancement

    Pros

    Good company to learn multitude of skills, from development to project management.

    Cons

    Lays off its development staff. No consistency because of frequent turnover

    Advice to Management

    Develop a standard product should be the focus. Minimize building solutions from scratch, which is the frequenr cause of projects going over budget

    Flexible culture, management trust employees, very nice people in general, good products

    pros outweigh the cons for sure

    Cons

    Closed minded and old fashioned approach to software.

    Lack of stronger sales methodologies.

    Bizzare relationship with parent company.

    A software company that thinks like a consulting firm.

    Advice to Management

    1. Modernize internal processes. Internal communications are lacking.

    2. Improve sales and marketing.

    Benefits, compensation, coworkers, corporate culture. All good.

    Cons

    Chicago office sometimes feels a little isolated from headquarters.

    I have been working at Longview Solutions full-time

    Pros

    Tax Reporting product still leads the market.
    CPM Product is extremely flexible and powerful.
    New BI product (from acquisition) is integrated well (although it took a while).

    Cons

    It would be better to innovate and build new technology ourselves, rather than buy it and rip it apart to integrate it every time.

    Advice to Management

    The sales transformation needs a serious re-think!

    Excellent product with caveat below
    Dedicated staff

    Cons

    Product has not kept up with current technology and development processes
    Management does not listen to long term staff but go with the new flavour of the week, month, year

    Listen and act - many, many staff are looking for new roles and given the contribution these employees have made, it would be advisable to listen to them.

    Pros

    - Great product/technology.

    - Outstanding client base.

    - Work/Life Balance.

    - Loyal Employees.

    Cons

    - Limited industry presence/marketing engine/analyst relationships.

    - Many employees take advantage of the work/life balance to the detriment of what's in the best interest of Longview.

    - Multiple acquisitions over the past 2 years have hindered the short term momentum of the company (though long term it may payoff).

    Advice to Management

    - Don't lose sight of what has brought Longview success in the past: Superior Technology and Loyal/Dedicated Employees.

    - Don't over complicate what use to be such a simple (and truthful) value proposition to prospects and customers.

    - Talk to your loyal/passionate employees. REALLY talk to them and DON'T be afraid of what they have to say.

    - It's very difficult to drive revenue when overwhelming majority of target companies are unaware of you as a solution provider.

    I have been working at Longview Solutions (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Nearly nothing positive left. Once I would have named the product. But due to layoffs development capacity has come to an end.

    Cons

    Managment hiding information or outright lying to customers and employees, layoffs and internal wars have created a culture of fear.

    Advice to Management

    Leave! Declare defeat and let someone capable take over, though it's probably too late.There is a reason the company is in it's current state and the answer is not "market conditions".
