    "Fantastic place to learn sales"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - BDA

I worked at LoopUp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

LoopUp is a fantastic place to learn sales. Everyone is very supportive and drives each other to greater success, and is given a fair chance. You will be right in the middle of extremely gifted salespeople calling throughout the week, and it's amazing to hear. The way the teams are structured keeps the competitive drive but not in a cutthroat way, everyone wants each other to do better. The people are genuinely great.

    Cons

Parts of the sales process as formally endorsed by management can be slow to change and adjust. However, this is not a con on the individual level, you just have to have absolute belief in everything you do. Sometimes it can be discouraging as the rejections/hangups can come hard and fast with cold-calling. However, you have to keep your chin up and never take no for an answer!

I have been working at LoopUp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -nothing to be honest

    Cons

-prey on recent graduates who don't know better and take a role here only to HATE their lives afterwards. -You role will only consist of: making 100 cold calls a day -copying and pasting emails - sometimes these are "Happy Friday" emails You're expected to hit an unrealistic quota but are given NO COMMISSION for booked meetings. I'm pretty sure that's illegal and if not frowned upon. I have worked for numerous sales organizations that pay me $50-75 per booked meeting, but LoopUp will NEVER do that. -You make commission as a pod. Yeah, so guess what: if you're working your butt off to book a ton of meetings and some of them close you have to share that commission with your entire pod. -You make around or less than $3,000 a month. Guess what? Rent in SF is $1500 a month. So have fun spending half your pay on rent. -Toxic work environment. -High turnover -ALSO if it couldnt get any worse, YOU ARENT EVEN SELLING A GREAT PRODUCT. LoopUp is SO far behind other conferencing companies like Zoom. Have fun trying to cold call a CIO and get him/her to even agree to a conversation with you if they're using Zoom. -Oh and when the company went public they "forgot" to invite their female director of sales who has been with them for 10+ years and closed one of their largest accounts in the history of their company. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This person is a sweetheart and absolutely amazing at her job and you dont invite her to your IPO?

I worked at LoopUp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They have snacks in the kitchen.

    Cons

This company is terrible. They lie to applicants about how good LoopUp is doing and how much the company is growing because they're desperate to get new hires. The truth is--this company is actually failing and they're closing down their offices because they can barely keep the lights on at this rinky-dink operation. If you're a recent college grad, then you're exactly the type of person they're trying to trick into working for them (because you probably don't know any better). But if you're familiar with working in sales and how commission structures work, then you wouldn't even think twice about working for LoopUp. The way commission works here is unlike any other company (and that's a bad thing). They use "watermarks" so your commission for the sales you make are not even guaranteed. Also, in the very rare instances that you do receive a commission, you have to share it with your pod--so it ends up being next to nothing. (What's the point of being in sales if you're not getting paid in commission anyway?) You're probably thinking, "well I just want to work here to get my foot in the door with sales, then maybe I'll switch companies in the future." Unfortunately, you're not going to learn and valuable skills at this company, so good luck with that. 100% of your job is just cold calling people for 8 hours a day. Sorry to break it to you, but cold calling isn't really a "skill" that any company or employer is going to be impressed with. Also, the pay is extremely low compared to other companies. Entry level sales jobs at other companies pay significantly more than the "higher ups" and management at LoopUp get paid (which explains why they're so miserable and a lot of them end up quitting and changing companies). Turn over rate here is high and for a good reason. Also, they promise a lot of really good benefits for the company, but when it comes time to actually try using these benefits--they make it extremely difficult. They'll promise you a company card to put your expenses on and then never mail you the card. (Yes really). I'm doing you a huge favor when I tell you to apply somewhere else and to stay far away from this company. But don't take my word for it, just look at all of the other reviews for this failing company.
