    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Lorain County Community College part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Wonderful community of faculty and staff. Many department supervisors work with your schedule.

    Cons

Not many hiring opportunities. You have to know someone to get into the college. The faculty is staffed by majority of adjunct faculty.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Lorain County Community College part-time

    Pros

Nice campus and friendly peers. Everyone is like one big family, within your pay grade.

    Cons

The politics can be frustrating. You have to know someone to get hired full time. Job security is low for part timers, which this college runs on.

    Advice to Management

Would like to say positive things, but the way part timers are treated leaves much to be desired. People are more than the bottom line.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Lorain County Community College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I work at the Spitzer Conference and Dining Center. Pros include a relaxed work environment, potential for raises, bonuses, and promotions based on performance reviews, and great work schedule flexibility. Part-time employees get pension-based retirement benefits, which is practically unheard of. Pay is consistently above minimum wage.

    Cons

Maybe some favoritism within the office, but no worse than any other average office climate. People that slack off or call off generally don't see any consequences.

    Advice to Management

Should focus more specifically on a smaller group of better-performing employees, and reward them with scheduling priority, rather than giving everyone about the same, despite performance varying radically between different employees.
