I have been working at Lorna Jane full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to wear active wear daily! You work along side amazing women who have have the same values as you and believe in a healthy lifestyle. With hard work you have the opportunity to grow your career. Lorna Jane challenges you in different ways than any other company and if you are open to thinking outside the box you can have a lot of fun and success.

    Cons

Australia runs the business and are clueless when it comes to the US market. Stock! We don’t have enough and lose sales daily because we can’t service our customers.

    Advice to Management

Put someone in corporate who understands the US business. Give the US as much attention as Australia.

    Pros

    Great Product and Great People!

    Cons

Employee discount is less than any other fitness professional off the street. They value these “fitness professionals” more than their own employees! We work hard and need to wear the brand to sell it but only get a small 30% discount on product while they now offer a nice 50% off to Active Elites! This is horrible news for us but great news for all the personal trainers and class instructors out there! You won’t be seeing...

    Advice to Management

Give your employees a comparable discount! Other like minded brands do so much more for their employees. Get a clue!

    Pros

Innovative and interesting designs for active wear.  Move Nourish Believe website has excellent work outs and recipesActive Living philosophy Encourages building customer relationships through talking about experiences while on your active journey

    Cons

Disorganized and not very operational:  For example In the several years I was a team member the company was constantly changing its processes for mileage, supply ordering, recruiting exc.. not because they were finding consistent ways of doing things but instead changing processes recklessly with poor communication at the store level. poor communication:  Because Lorna Jane frequently is changing its process often...

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Lorna Jane full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can create lasting friendships with employees and customers.

    Cons

This company destroyed my passion for retail. Bullying, harassment and unfair treatment is this companies core values. Don't ever speak up or ask questions because you end up with a target on your back. Employees are not treated with any respect, they are not valued unless you are in the purple circle. State management and area coaches hire 'friends'. They are treated better and allowed a lot more luxuries and leniency....

    Advice to Management

For crying out loud take note. Investors please PLEASE come out and ask the team members working in store HOW WE FEEL. We are preached to on a daily basis ' Don't Assume'. However as a business you are ASSUMING that you are doing and treating everyone perfectly. Lorna boasted recently after a certain win that she looks after and treats all her employees right. This is no where near the case, and action needs to be taken...

I worked at Lorna Jane for more than 10 years

    Pros

If you love the product, being able to wear it to work. Making connections with team mates. Not a great deal of stock to unpack.

    Cons

Lack of structured learning. Senior management do not listen to team concerns or idea's. Lack of care for team - everyone is a disposable number. Performance is not set by SMART goals. Performance management is unrealistic and unattainable. Non supportive environment.

    Advice to Management

Set SMART goals with realistic time frames and support. Develop learning structure. Set better bonus scheme. Retail is competitive. People work for people, support your people and they will support you with sales.
