I have been working at Lorna Jane full-time

    Pros

I have the opportunity to work with some of the most inspiring people I have met. I agree with the companies philosophy of M.N.B. which represents moving your body everyday, nourishing it from the inside out, and believing in yourself and that anything is possible.Fast paced, competitive compensation, and amazing benefits. This company is fast paced, always challenging me to grow on a professional and personal level.

    Cons

    I don't have any cons.

    Advice to Management

At this time I have no advice to management.

I worked at Lorna Jane full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Created an amazing client base of women who loved shopping with me at the store. Had a nice team of girls working for me!

    Cons

Too many cons to type.I know many people in the company feel the same. Starting with our discount, we only receive 30% off product, trainers receive 20% off. Not very fair! As a manager I was required to wear Lorna Jane and was insulted by upper management when a tiny logo of another brand I had on the end of my jacket was showing. Lorna Jane does not make jackets in winter, only shorts and tank tops. What was I supposed...

    Cons

There is no work/life balance and not all of the work is spread out evenly within teammates.

I have been working at Lorna Jane

    Pros

Absolutely love working here. Started out as an Active Stylist in the store level, and was able to grow and get a full time position in the home office. This company truly has pushed my learning abilities, and I am learning something new every day when I am here! Whether it's regarding health and fitness, or regarding my position knowledge and skills, this company has so much room for growth, I even recommended two of...

    Cons

Small kitchen, but we make it work! A dishwasher would be nice to have and maybe a smoothie blender! Also, the office tends to get cold at certain times of the day, but it's nothing too serious. The work environment here is very clean, healthy, and safe regardless.

I have been working at Lorna Jane part-time

      Pros

Great brand message inspiring women to live the best active lifestyle they can possibly live. Women inspiring women to be active!

      Cons

Little support from higher management (head office). Also makes employees feel not appreciated in the way they pay or help to become better.

      Advice to Management

Focus more on supporting the team in-store and being of assistance whether it is trying to further develop the team or assist in being motivating.

      Pros

Innovative and interesting designs for active wear.  Move Nourish Believe website has excellent work outs and recipesActive Living philosophy Encourages building customer relationships through talking about experiences while on your active journey

      Cons

Disorganized and not very operational:  For example In the several years I was a team member the company was constantly changing its processes for mileage, supply ordering, recruiting exc.. not because they were finding consistent ways of doing things but instead changing processes recklessly with poor communication at the store level. poor communication:  Because Lorna Jane frequently is changing its process often...

I worked at Lorna Jane full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The active lifestyle philosophy is very prominent and motivating to be a part of. The newly implemented group commission structure is distributed fairly and is rewarding to those shops that truely put in the effort as a team.

      Cons

Being that you are paid on salary, you will be expected to take on more responsibilities and not receive more money. Even when my shop was operating at the highest level and with the most efficient scheduling and using the best trained team, I was still expected to be there a minimum of 40hrs per week. The communication and understanding of "real life" retail life from head office was well below sub par. They try to "support"...

      Advice to Management

Overall my team did well because we operated on our own to the beat of of our own drum. I feel that I was able to run a successful location once I was given the freedom to train, advise, and lead my own team that I personally selected. The more micromanagement that was involved the less efficient the team was and the less they trusted me. Shop leaders should be trained to be leaders, not followers. They should be encouraged...
