I worked at Lorna Jane part-time for less than a year

    Pros

With the right leadership you have to potential to grow and excel in this company, at the end of the day it comes down to having a great manager. Open communication is the key to drive this business. In store you have the freedom to own your business, contribute your ideas, and influence your customer on a higher level -- that most companies are unable to do. The work atmosphere is comfortable and team members...

    Cons

Miscommunication or not enough information before promotions roll out. It seems like offers and policy's are just thrown into perspective without deep thought. Turnover rate: stop promoting just to promote some people are not ready for certain roles. It speaks volumes when stores become understaffed due to an associate leaving because they were overwhelmed by the work load.

    Advice to Management

    You're doing better.

      Pros

40% off discount, higher than minimum wage, good team.

      Cons

Honestly not too many. It’s not a well known brand so it can be a little boring.

I have been working at Lorna Jane

      Pros

If you believe in the lifestyle, it's an amazing company to work for. Everyone's always so positive and inspiring. It's a great environment to be around! As for growth, I was able to be promoted to Shop Supervisor within 4-5 months (I was 17 when I started and then got promoted soon after I turned 18). I've seen many opportunties for growth within the company. They promote from within when they know you're ready and...

      Cons

Always short staffed so if you're looking for hours to work every week then it's perfect! As part time, I've only been getting 2 days off a week (so very rarely 3 times a week) which is difficult if you're in school or have a second job. Expectations are pretty high so if you're not 100% into it each day, days will seem long since the store is always on the slower side of foot traffic. On these slower days, you are expected...

I worked at Lorna Jane part-time for less than a year

      Pros

It is a super easy job.

      Cons

I began working for Lorna Jane and was told that I would be getting a minimum of 25 hrs per week (part time shop supervisor). I put in my two weeks notice, so that i could be available for training and setting up of the two stores that were to open.. Over the span of my first 2 weeks at LJ i worked 4.5 days. My needs were not being met, however once the store opened, i did begin for receive the hours i was told i would...
