I worked at Lou Malnati's Pizzeria full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Being a Chicago based restaurant, everybody there had a more family oriented mindset. I will say it is one of the best crews I worked with.

    Cons

It. Gets. Slow. Which makes sense, it takes 35-40 minutes to make a deep dish. So lunches are going to be a little slow. When I left there used to be 8 servers in the morning and that's gone down to 3-4.

    Advice to Management

One of the reasons why I left. I felt like I walked on eggshells all day long and felt insecure about my position in the restaurant. Hopefully that is fixed now.

I have been working at Lou Malnati's Pizzeria part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mostly great coworkers, easy to talk to mangers, lots of opportunities to move around in the company, and fun place to be at

    Cons

Mangers tend to stay in the back of the house on busy days (weekends) and rely on stronger employees to handle the front, all the mangers seem to be on different pages (one manger will say one thing and another will say something completely different). Also, takes forever to get a raise that you were suppose to get.

    Advice to Management

Help out the front of the house more on busy days, get on the same or similar page, and give employees the raises they are suppose to get in a timely manner

    Pros

All of the bus boys are easy to get along with and it is always fun to be part of that group.

    Cons

It is a tough work load and it can be a very tough environment outside of the busser team. You get to work in partnerships/teams so the work load is a bit more "manageable." But it is hard labor.

    Advice to Management

Show more respect towards your bus boys, and consider how much you guys actually depend on them. You guys do a poor job at acknowledging how much we contribute every day.

    Pros

    - Good money
    - Good employee discounts and food compensation while working
    - Busy location with lots of action

    Cons

    - Management not helping their staff!!!!
The absolute worst thing about working here (South Loop) was that the managers didn't seem to trust the staff and often gave them negative performance reviews immediately before shifts. This happened to several of my coworkers as well as myself. One manager even kept me in the back office and told me that my degree was going to be useless because I was not a good person...while they knew I had tables waiting for me. I only stayed as long as I did because the crowd was always so great and I needed the money for school. I hope better managers are now in their place.

    Advice to Management

    Learn to manage properly
