I worked at Louis Dreyfus Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, Great pay, awesome co-workers

    Cons

No cons....I have been working for over 40 years and this was the first job I actually looked forward to coming to every morning. I became ill which was not job related and the company took excellent care of me but I couldn't return back to work because I became disabled. They treated me with the utmost respect and showed a lot of empathy towards me. I can honestly say I have never gotten that kind of treatment in all the years of work at other companies!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Company is small in North America corporate offices Calgary, KC, and Wilton. ABCD agricultural commodities business

    Cons

Company does not treat employees well, ranging from back office to middle office. Software and computer network is terrible and getting worse (done to cut costs). You are provided vacation days and management is extremely strict on when you can take those days off (unheard of). The only employees that are treated well are traders, and that has been going downhill. Senior and/or important traders and recently have left. The firm is moving towards the physical business instead of our traditional prop trading business.

    Advice to Management

Don't emulate a european style of government. Listen to your senior traders. Treat employees well if you provided good benefits in your Lyon and Geneva you should try and apply those benefits to your other offices. Also, create a culture where politics and internal arguing doesn't exist.

    Pros

    Hours are pretty much 9-5

    Cons

People are strange and keep to their own department. Culture has gotten worse over time and pay is awful and showing no sign of improvement

    Advice to Management

Increase salary and give an actual bonus for once.
