I worked at Louisiana CAT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Louisiana Cat provides a great work environment; teamwork centered and very cohesive . Management cares about their employees, and the benefits are excellent. I LOVED working here, I would go back in a minute if I could.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is that you have to work for a full year before you are eligible for one week paid time off.

    Advice to Management

No advice, they treat their people right!

I worked at Louisiana CAT full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the benefits and pay aren't bad for someone starting out an entry level position.

    Cons

Not for the physically faint of heart. Tons of walking around the warehouse all day filling up orders with tons of small items that need to be taken off the shelf so it basically kills your feet by the end of the day. The coworkers in the warehouse are also treat others terrible that are new. Just a toxic environment and they basically show you a basic understanding of how to do things and then throw you out to the sharks and expect you to remember everything. I think this is suitable for very few that are conditioned well to operate a forklift to move very heavy equipment and they don't pay enough for the things you do all day. Not worth, just turn around or find a new position at the company.

    Advice to Management

Find a simpler way to make your order fullfilmentsheets stand out as different either by color coding things or marking them a different way so there is no confusion when filling several hundred orders a day. Give more time set aside for new employees to finish the training courses and maybe develop a better training program for workers especially when making hoses.

I have been working at Louisiana CAT full-time

    Pros

An employee's experience with Louisiana CAT depends on the location. I work at the corporate headquarters in Reserve and couldn't be happier. The environment is pleasant and my coworkers are great. Sure, there are some bad apples but that is anywhere you work.

Opportunity to grow is there if you want it. If you work hard, then good things can happen.

    Cons

The PTO policy leaves a tad to be desired.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at Louisiana CAT full-time

    Pros

A great staff to work with. Family atmosphere for the size of the company. Potential for growth within the company. Decent pay.

    Cons

Do not have too many bad things to say. Sometimes the job you are assigned to can be unclear. Almost everyone at the company is great to work with but there are a few bad apples.

    Advice to Management

I think the best advice would be better training. Also too much required training. Increase communication between divisions. This always caused problems.

    Pros

    worked with great people....thats it

    Cons

Long Hours, Your efforts are not appreciated, you will be laid off when times get tough unless you brown nose your way into staying, high turnover rate, will not make it past five years, too many mangers and not enough young workers because they get rid of all of them when times get a little tough.

    Advice to Management

get new management that actually cares about employees
