I have been working at Lourdes Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    • Plenty of overtime if you want it (or they need you to)
    • Nice staff (Yes, even management)
    • Decent hourly pay
    • FT is 3 12 hour days/ week. PT is 2 12 hour days/week. Per diem is at least 3 12 hour days/month.
    • Uniforms included
    • Night/evening differential available
    • On a slow day, get paid to do whatever
    • Gloucester City shift available

    Cons

    • It's a hospital so a committee decided your hourly rate. Don't like it? Don't take the job
    • Feedback given to management mostly ignored
    • Policies are constantly being updated to benefit management.
    • Multiple trucks will be out of service at one time, even just after being repaired.
    • Sometimes 1 hand doesn’t know what the other is doing with management
    • If you are assigned a shift on a day, they can move you wherever they need you.
    • In both Gloucester City and SCTU, you could either run all shift and not get a break or you can go all shift with nothing- Rules of working EMS applies.

    Advice to Management

I would love to see this company get bigger than it is, that’s why I’m so critical of it. This has the potential to be a great place to work if it’s run correctly. Listen to the employees, I don’t expect everything they say to be implemented but for some things, humor us- give it a shot. I’d love to see management and employees get along better and be transparent. Instead of just making new policies to restrict what people can do, try to get to the root of the problem and fix that. I realize some people can never be pleased, but for most of us just listen to what we are saying and act upon it. SHOW YOU CARE!

I worked at Lourdes Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great health benefits that you get right away

    Cons

Pay rate for the numerous job responsibilities is ridiculous. Co worker's have no idea how to work as a team player and only care about themselves. Way to much drama and back stabbing. Every day you work non stop (which I actually like) but sometimes your lucky if you get 5 minutes to use the rest room. Supervisors need training on how to professionly treat their employees. Raises are few and far between and if you do get one it is nothing. Basically no incentives for the stressful, hard work you do.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and take a closer look. There is a reason why there is a high turnover and bad reviews.

    Pros

None at this point. The company overworks their associates. I worked for four departments. I use to love to work for them but it has changed. The atmosphere is stressful.

    Cons

As an associate, I was always getting more work. I was doing work for four departments and not getting any credit for it. I was not allowed to put this work on my evaluation either. You had a hard time taking vacation. You are grossly underpaid for your work and expected to do more. There is no possibility for advancement. As an associate, you could not even get an interview for another position within the company. You never heard anything. They hire by referrals only. Management is not supportive.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to look at their current management and restructure it from the top down. Until this is done, they will continue to lose valued employees. You need to pay you administrative personnel a fair wage. Many associates are leaving because of the low pay. One secretary left her job and went to another company in the vicinity and doubled her pay.
