I have been working at Lovepop full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Working at Lovepop has been a great experience. I am surrounded by a group of smart, passionate, talented people who are empowered to make decision and drive change. I joined Lovepop from a larger organization, I wasn’t necessarily sure how that transition would go but everyone is so friendly and inclusive I felt like I had always been here. I continue to be excited and amazed by how fast paced the business is and...

    Cons

No real negatives, just regular growing pains of any growing startup

    Advice to Management

Continue keeping the team engaged and informed. All-Hands meetings are great, keep sharing and encouraging your teams to do the same

I worked at Lovepop full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The cards are beautiful and the free cards are definitely a perk. My managers were transparent and always had my best interest in mind as far as career progression. I felt I could share my opinion (about most things) and it would at least be considered, well to my face.

    Cons

The leadership. No transparency from the top - mass layoffs happened overnight which were handled in a very public and rather inhumane way. Hard work that never ends that leads you feeling like you always still behind. If you're going to preach the idea of connection as a value, you need to actually make sure it bleeds through the organization. Disgruntled whispers of employees who are unhappy lead to low morale, and...

    Advice to Management

Just be honest with your team that you claim to love so much when the ship is sinking. And when you let go of these people that you care about, do it in a humane way that doesn't pack them into rooms to share they are being told they are getting a less than appealing severance and a firm kick in the pants.

I worked at Lovepop part-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Flexibility: If you're a Brand Ambassador/ Sales Associate, management will try to accomodate your schedule. A few coworkers have families, main/other jobs, attend school, or have other commitments. It's not your generic sales job where you need open availability. You still have to have a reasonable availability. -Coworkers: While I was working there, a majority of my coworkers were friendly. The managers tended to...

    Cons

-Micromanagement: When I started, managers would randomly pop up. There would be times where I would get a text or call saying "I see you doing this or that" and not see the manager. Iunderstand that managers have to make sure you're doing your job but that was stressful. -Sales Goals: In addition to physically watching you, managers would unsertstandably watch your sales. If you're not doing well, expect to be questioned...

    Advice to Management

Lovepop is a business so of course there has to be a quota. I feel as though if employees get along better with management and are generally happy, that can translate to being more enthusiastic about the job. Which means wanting to come to work and putting in effort into making more sales.

I worked at Lovepop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Getting free cards & working with some friendly co-workers.

    Cons

During my time here, there were a lot of issues that I had with management. They have incredibly strict rules on how to act and sell the cards, which often backfires because it makes it difficult to organically connect with the customers and scares them away. Due to this a lot of the interactions feel forced, especially when people from the office join in. The most frustrating part about working here was the amount...

    Advice to Management

Connect more with the Brand Ambassadors, or at least open up a form for them to provide feedback. A lot of the complaints & suggestions BAs have working here are mainly discussed amongst ourselves, and don’t reach anyone in management.

I worked at Lovepop full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free cards. Healthy, active office extracurricular activities and clubs.

    Cons

The 'Leadership Team' are first-time, inexperienced, and learning as they go. Most don't qualify for their roles. Erratic spending with no focus, or path. Constantly trying to get away from their product by creating new SKUs that never amount to anything except dead inventory which is why they are unable to attract investors. High turnover. I would HIGHLY advise anyone considering accepting a position here to...

I have been working at Lovepop full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Amazing amount of talented and friendly individuals that make coming into work very enjoyable. Paired with a fun work environment that fosters creativity. - Opportunity to work on products that make meaningful and magical moments in people's lives. - Good benefits. 401K, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, etc. are always improving as the company finds better options. As an example, 401K is relevantly new and...

    Cons

Not much to say here as my experience here over the years has been mostly positive. Maybe that sometimes the objectives get muddied by other projects that are happening at the same time and not enough focus is put into the things that matter the most.

I have been working at Lovepop full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great Team! Great Product! Great learning opportunity! I never thought I could work for a smaller company because the opportunity to leverage and grow my skill set would be limited. I could not have been more wrong. Projects that would have taken months or years get done in weeks and days. Layers of bureaucracy are removed from decision making which allows those with solid ideas to move rapidly.

    Cons

Feeling comfortable in a t-shirt. For someone coming from a culture with more structure and formality it can be a bit of an adjustment. I'm good now, but it did take a couple months to feel ok not wearing a button down shirt to work everyday.

    Advice to Management

Every month, John and Wombi hold an all hands meeting. It's very heart felt and super transparent. The best part is when we get to thank others. It could be something simply or a big project, but what makes it special is it's genuine. Don't lose that culture....it's great!
