I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For 15 years I dedicated strong work ethics to Lowe's in providing exceptional customer services. Lowe's newest mantra "help people love where they live" was my goal. Recently Lowe's restructured job positions eliminating department managers. In effect taking many tenured associates out of their structure. This change eliminated the product and operation knowledge from the stores, replacing them with lower paid part time associates with less skill and knowledge levels. This concept creates more red vests on the sales floor, but with the equivalent entry level part time and temporary skills. I once loved where I worked and loved helping others love where they lived. The dedication, multiple customer service awards, and high praise meant nothing. DO NOT Work here. Lowe's will use you, so corporate big wigs like Robert Niblock can collect huge bonuses. Lowe's was a great place. Now it sees employees as a number. Don't fall for the hype.

    Cons

If you enjoy being used and abused then Lowe's is the place for you

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is be open and honest with employees regardless of corporate directives. Those that lose faith in Lowe's will still see you as honorable regardless of the outcome.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, insurance is good, yearly raises, good benefits

    Cons

The company is always changing upper management and other positions in the store. If you're looking for a company to retire with, being a store manager is the only safe position in the company. Lowes says they value their workers but making changes every few years makes employees not engaged.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, with Lowes "evolving" it will be hard to keep good employees.
