I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people and much better than HD, long HR test but effective. Great products but could be more innovative. Empowerment to managers a welcome improvement.

    Cons

Communication stinks. Do not follow HD on the must meet expectations theme. Manage expectations. Train managers to help employees manage expectations

    Advice to Management

give more hours to good people. Under promise and over deliver. Good employees are hard to find.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits and room to grow, just have to befriend the right people in order to get an opportunity to move up

    Cons

Assistant managers constantly bump heads to impress corporate managers which leads to the lower end workers doing tasks just to undo what was done

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, good people, average pay

    Cons

New re-structure program is terrible. New service managers are not up to handling 2 to 3 departments. Mostly good people but no leadership and work falls on a few people

    Advice to Management

Schedule better and have service managers more available to their departments

    I worked at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You will have some very nice coworkers, fast paced depending on store, good pay for starting out as first job

    Cons

A couple of the managers liked to pick favorites, you'll have to deal with some very rude customers while checking them out or doing a return

    I worked at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Laid back management, stress free work environment, fair breaks, good environment to learn about home improvement/maintenance, also great place to work as a first job

    Cons

Hours are shaky, never have a set schedule or amount of hours per week especially if you're part time, very difficult to move up in the store if you start as a cashier

    Advice to Management

None - management is honestly great

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Benefits for part-time are great
Easy to get time off for part-time
     Decent pay for retail
Not decent pay for what you are expected to deal with

    Cons

Part-time hours are first to get cut
Costly benefits when your hours are cut
New management scheme is difficult to work with - 6 more people sitting in offices on weekends, less people on the floor and check out.
Customer management system needs a lot of work, difficult to use.
Expected to work with numerous, and sometimes not integrated, selling systems.

    Advice to Management

Check your new managers, set expectations and guidelines, get them on the floor, MBWA
Help in busy areas, don't just page for help... you took 6 people off of the floor... there isn't anyone... Get off your chair
