    Decent pay for retail. Relaxed atmosphere. Great store managers and associates.

    Cons

    Retail hours. Not always sure of getting enough hours as a part time employee.

    Advice to Management

    Spread hours out to current part time employees instead of adding more part time employees.

    Pros

    In our store we form a bond with on another. That is my second family and we help each other as a team

    Cons

    The swing shifts are rough and there are times you miss family events.

    Advice to Management

    Be on the floor more and talk to your employees. Show them that they are a person not just a number.

    Pros

    Management works to create a cohesive environment. Great camaraderie among coworkers. Good long term benefits. Good opportunities to develop professionally if you take initiative.

    Cons

    Dealing with the public in a retail environment, store was often understaffed. Upper management at the corporate level often made hasty personnel decisions.

    Put more effort into retaining your most valued employees.

    I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good hourly pay for retail. Lots of employee engagement. Great co-workers. Lots of scheduling options.

    Cons

    Hardly any training. Very old POS software and registers that often breakdown. Lack of investment in store infrastructure. New internet order management system does not work with inventory system and is a nightmare to use, even the associate at the help center don't have answers when you call for help. Lots of long term employees who are resistant to change. People like to pass of work rather than do it.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in moving the company into the 21st century by getting rid of Genesis and providing more training on Sterling. Do a better job with contractors for delivery and installation if you want to keep customers., they create a lot of customer complaints.

    Interacting with a variety of people on a daily basis. Helping people find what they need to make their house a home

    Can be overwhelming at peak and busy times. Particularly when there is a staffing shortage. Retail customers can be demanding

    Pros

    Great environment to work in. I enjoy helping customers start and finish their projects. You start to develop relationships with "regulars".

    Cons

    Inconsistent schedule and working weekends is non negotiable. For the amount of work you do at this job, you are underpaid.

    Advice to Management

    A lot of hard work goes unnoticed. Get to know your employees better and seek out work ethic.
