    Overall I would say your great, some general advice, look to the hourly people for possible management instead of poaching from Target and other retail stores.

    Advice to Management

    I think as a whole management is doing the best with what they have been given. Store level is in a very tight spot to out perform forecast with less resources and more responsibilities. I believe there are many gaps left in wake of corporate's decision to restructure now. Cutting IT and pushing new platforms such as Lowe's for Pros and Lowe's.com with no solid foundation(Sterling,ha).

    The team here is like a big family!! Pay is better than working minimum wage and im not sure of any of other jobs in the area that pay more. The system we use may look complicated but it's really not once you learn the hotkeys and everything.

    Pros

    Decent benefits. Employee stock plan. Decent employee discount. Overall not a bad place to work depending on location. You will definitely learn new things 👍🏾.

    Cons

    Micromanagement. You will have multiple mangers giving you different task to do ... very frustrating. Early morning and late nights at times . 2%-3% raises.

    Jump in and help out when possible.

    Benefits, work/life balance, pay is better than the competition, I enjoy being able to be creative in my job and educating customers on the different offerings for cabinets/countertops/ etc...

    Cons

    Management needs to be aware that having an understaffed store adds unnecessary stress on the employees. Retail hours suck. The worst part is having to neglect my actual job to help other departments and then being questioned why customers haven't been called.

    Keep the store fully staffed and train the part timers in specialty departments

    I have been working at Lowe's as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Customer interaction, talking making sales, taking internet orders, marketing sure the orders are ready for the customers, selling mowers, making sure the department is ready for the customers at all times

    Cons

    Lack of management, no communication between employees and mangement, right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, management countering each other

    Focus on the employee communication. Make sure everyone is on the same page and understa ds.
