I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There really aren't many positives anymore.

    Cons

Human resources is a joke. They do not hold all employees to the same policies. I've actually had corporate laugh at me for filing a complaint. They have already fired 3000 ASM's, and 17000 department managers were demoted to temporary positions. Corporate has already stated they are shifting to part-time. No room for advancement. I was downsized out of my position twice in 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Stop cutting hours and positions. Actually investigate and treat all complaints as serious issues.

    Pros

Salary and schedule, I was paid fairly and l knew what I would be working year around because of the rotation

    Cons

Good boys club, a lot of managers had too many friends whom didn't do anything. One manger would say left the other would say right

    Advice to Management

    Manager on individual levels

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There used to be great people that worked here, and high potential to grow.

    Cons

Since the company decided to restructure, It is impossible to run a business. There is no staffing and everyone that used to be dependable is leaving. What once was a great place to work is now running down hill so Niblock can make a quick buck before he leaves.

    Advice to Management

    Get out while you can.

    Pros

Hourly workers are great. Pay rate is competitive.

    Cons

Management is incompetent, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Don't give enough hours.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

It wasn't a bad place to work. You are there so much that it becomes a family environment with your co-workers. But a clear separation from hourly employees to salary.

    Cons

There was never any consistency with management. Either they didn't know anything and expected you to do their job or they would be extremely helpful. Since there were few that were helpful, those managers would be so hard to get ahold of because Everyone wanted their help. Good managers are stretched too thin and burn out.

    Advice to Management

Teach and train management so that they are well versed in their jobs and the running of the store. Your team is only as good as your weakest link.

Sometimes the store (management) could put people in a position of authority but don't have all the skills it take to be a Store Manager, ASM or DM. It seems like once they get these title they forget the basic fundamentals of customers services and leadership skills.
