    Pros

Dynamic job, don't just sit behind a desk all day.

    Cons

Long hours, have to work nights, weekends, and every holiday. Also feel like a big part of this job is focused on party planning for the holidays.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the pay scale of HR Professionals compared to other upper management. There is a huge discrepancy and Lowe's will be losing a lot of talented HR Business Partners due to low salaries.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits, Pay, Vacation Time, Benifits, Volunteer Opportunities.

    Cons

    In store management
    Employee/manager development
    Lack of training

    Advice to Management

The ideas and changes coming from the top are great. They inspire customer service and employee dedication. Unfortunately the values and ideas are not instituted at a store level. Managers continue to manage in their old ways, promote based on favoritism, and do not reward hard work and knowledge over yes-men and brown nosing. Store managers and assistant managers are not knowledgeable and do not hold employees accountable. Lowe's may talk about being the home improvement company of the future, but it will take more than new fancy tv commercial, a bad website design, and empty talk from the top. Get in the stores and push the SM and ASM's to do their jobs, gain knowledge. You are losing high performing, knowledgeable employees and managers because of a lack of accountability and awareness.

    Advice to Management

Before giving someone the job because seniority consider professionalism first, especially when seniority is not the determining factor when hiring someone for a management position.

I worked at Lowe's (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are no pros to working here. The occasional free food is ok. It's a good place to meet people you wanna hook up with.

    Cons

Worst Management Team Ever. Only brown nosing people will get promoted. They aren't hiring anyone new for full time. Hard work doesn't pay off.

    Advice to Management

I hope you all get fired. You should be ashamed for letting go of the only good assistant manager you had. The restructuring of the company will be your downfall.
