    Pros

The pay, the people, and the hours are great. This is the place to work at if you are looking for an amazing place.

    Cons

Depending on what shift you work on, the people change. The attitudes of people differ on different shifts.

    Advice to Management

The managers need to get closer with their employees. Get to know them and be more helpful when we are in need of help.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company's drive is incredible and has a lot good work that needs to be done. So it is a fulfilling job to go into to every day.

    Cons

In my personal opinion, their worst attribute is that they have too much going on. Not enough of a clear vision, and want to do too much all at once.

    Advice to Management

Communication is at times slow, or inconsistent.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health Insurance is awesome and the pay for retail is pretty good. Your coworkers are very down to earth people just trying to make a buck.

    Cons

I don't see how there can be any good current reviews. Lowe's had a total restructure about three month ago. They demoted all the department managers. There's no leadership on the sales floor. I understand corporations do this to up stock prices. To add insult to injury there not hiring enough associates and this is nationwide. The hardworking associate are being run into the ground and the stores are falling apart. Is there an underlying plan to run off the long standing employees to save money. If so this is a dangerous game there playing because this place is falling apart fast. I'm not business savvy but might they be looking to drive down cost along with the restructure so they can sell the whole company for a big profit?

    Advice to Management

If management and corporate truly want Lowe's to succeed then give us the manpower and tools we need to make it happen. If you really want to know how the employees feel read the Lowe's blogs.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you can land a job as a specialist, and if you can view the job as a tremendous learning opportunity, you can take those skills to another pay and career level with another company.

    Cons

The management at my store in Weymouth, Massachusetts is dishonest and unreasonable. Morale is low, because employees are insulted and unappreciated by management. The store manager blocks transfers. It is a dead end unless you use your position to learn as much as possible from Connections, coworkers and product reps. View this company as college with a stipend, then take your education and move to a more professional environment.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to morale and to the suggestions of the specialists who help you earn those bonuses. Friendliness is free. Thanking customers making large purchases is free. Thanking specialists for large sales is free. Manage in a way that makes employees want to work harder for you instead of inspiring your current talent to send out resumes.

    Pros

Management is straight forward and the work is not hard.

    Cons

The company has decided to eliminate full-time positions creating a more stressful work environment. Also since the restructuring employees on the lower end of the spectrum have been given responsibilities that are not within the job description for which they were hired.

    Advice to Management

Management has been dealt a losing hand and from my point of view they are doing what they deem is necessary to keep the store running. Although management needs to recognize that simply increasing employees hours and burning out workers will not replace the employees lost over the past year.
