I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

dedicated leadership team, very employee-centric, an urge to do the best for the employee, good food, transport, friendly people, good communication, lots of good employee events like cricket, volleyball, very good chance to work in community building

    Cons

management should be bold in making decisions, should not be bothered too much about US

    Advice to Management

trust each other and don't bring other people down. it's a good culture don't spoil with your ego.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Friendly co-workers and managers
    - Pay was better than other companies
    - Benefits available for part time workers too
    - Free food around holiday time
    - The option to change departments
    - Different types of positions available or the option to transfer to a different location

    Cons

The work environment heavily depended on management.
    - Scheduling conflicts
    - Cloping happening, which upset a lot of workers

In January of 2017, corporate decided to restructure the company without warning. Department managers' jobs were gone, but they didn't get let go. Instead, former department managers were given a year to find a new position in the company.

The decline in retail in general really hit Lowe's. For example, last summer, foot traffic was less since people were buying online more. The decrease of sales at the store led to seasonal workers' hours being cut severely.

    Advice to Management

Be clear with future business changes in order to prepare workers for them.

    Pros

I love socializing and meeting with other people

    Cons

The distance is a bit to far from home Orlando

    Advice to Management

Needs to be more open minded when it comes to employees

    I worked at Lowe's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most sales associates and service managers at this location are wonderfully pleasant to work with

    Cons

Lots of favoritism from asms to specific associates at this location

    Advice to Management

Base your staffing decisions more on those who have been trained and preparing to move into positions rather than who you like more on a personal level, maybe the turnover rate will slow down a bit

I worked at Lowe's (More than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, great coworkers, fun environment.

    Cons

Lack of training. I was dumped into the Indoor Lawn and Garden with little training beforehand and was expected to give advice. Luckily I learned quickly and I knew some things before hand but other times I was pulling random info from my butt.

    Advice to Management

Training Training Training. If you're going to be selling products that can sometimes hurt the environment (pesticides) train your employees about the various products and what they do! Training sessions are investments and if you don't invest in training and your employees, you'll never grow to your full potential!

    I worked at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

THey were really nice and professional in the beggining and tried to make all of us bond with each other; and we really did bond.

    Cons

However, once the store opened , management was really unforgiving and unaccmodating. They did not recognize the extra efforts put forth by certain employees and their "Rewards and Positive Feedback" was directed randomly.
