    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Potentially a great place to work. If you can deal with the questionable politics within management you can establish a career for yourself.

    Cons

Lowest paying job I have ever had; especially, for the ridiculously high amount of responsibility some management tries to invoke upon employees. Motivational methods used by management include no more than feeding associates delusions of grandeur and pseudo hopes for success

    Advice to Management

Once it becomes obvious that an employee is valuable to the company the appropriate steps should be taken by management to retain and train. Most importantly, you have to SHOW the employee that they are invaluable (i.e. give them a substantial raise and/or implement their skills effectively by placing them in an appropriate postion)

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent. Benefits are good if you take advantage of all the various affiliate company discounts (i.e. Met life, Verizon etc.) Progressive company with forward thinking initiatives.

    Cons

Some stores can be high stress, depending on management and location. Often expected to do too much with too little. Older/smaller stores feel left behind by new company planograms, merchandising retail space and overall appearance.

    Advice to Management

Celebrate wins, be supportive to everyone regardless of position and most importantly BE GENUINE.
