I have been working at Lowell General Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Appears to have fair base rates.

    Cons

No professional development to enhance their nurse's careers. Would appreciate some type of program to transition nurses from medsurg to tele to ED, L&D, SCN, etc. Nurses are leaving the organization to pursue growth.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at Lowell General Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Close to home , nice facility, good group on workers, great technology, customer service focused, good computer system , brand new ICU, newer ER, spacious rooms, nice technology

    Cons

Older building still rooms 2 patients /room. Management takes staff for granted, pay rate is capped and considerably less the others surrounding hospital, short staffed and expect you to more work, hard to get time off.

I have been working at Lowell General Hospital full-time

    Pros

Decent benefits including employee pharmacy with low co-pays.

    Cons

Incredibly difficult workload. Top heavy on management - people who actually do the work spread way too thin. Substandard work environment.

    Advice to Management

Look at departments that need more space - very outdated and cramped working conditions.
