    Pros

Great fellow employees who, for the most part, are easy to get along with.

    Cons

This store is a great example of the trend of promoting yourself as one thing while being just like everyone else. The friendly smile of the management is a disguise of pretending to care until you somehow impact their sales and they will gladly leave you to the curb. I have witnessed way too many well intentioned and hardworking hosts be fired on the spot when it impacts the sales or atmosphere of the company while others who have very little expectations of them will get away with pretty much anything.

Total Disaster Run Far Far Away!

    Pros

No logical reason any sane persons would work for this dumpster fire of a company!

    Cons

(Strickland Rd location Raleigh)Toxic work environment!!! Incompetence on every level! Some great team members that are abused and overworked due to managements lack of care, and greater concern for bonuses than proper staffing. Unrealistic and misrepresented job descriptions and demands. Low pay without any chance of getting a raise or paid time off before a year of employment. A complete lack of onboarding, training, and development will leave you stuck in the same position your entire career at this company. HR issues abound without any support or recourse for the employee that raises a concern. Corporate will just ignore and sweep the misdeeds of tenured management under the rug. Run don’t walk away from this store and company!!!

Good or bad, depending on department

    Pros

Pension after five years, some hybrid opportunities, supports local businesses, growth opportunities on the store level, great private brand product line, several fantastic leaders, teams and hosts.

    Cons

Great income for select corporate roles, poor income on the store level for many. Poor onboarding training in first week compared to other companies. Some training involved but not as much for true success. Glass ceiling for many in corporate. Marketing department has a lot of turn over due to leadership issues. Many hosts have met with HE, filed complaints, documented and submitted concerns, but nothing changes. Training modules assumed assigned to leaders isn’t working. Underpaid positions. Hosts made to look incompetent when they are actually incapable of doing a good job in several areas due to poorly developed parameters. Inconsistent leadership, and lies, many concerns within Marketing. Only a select few have a voice, if you aren’t one of the favorites you are demeaned and looked down at or made to feel less valued. Many many have left marketing and shared the same concerns and nothing changes. Until the select leaders who’ve been continuously reported are held accountable hosts will continue to leave. Not confident that will happen given the number of complaints and same people there. As far as other departments, no issues. Loved the experiences there. Would’ve stayed had marketing treated the hosts the same as other departments treat their team members.

    Decent, but not worth it.

Jul 6, 2022 - Deli Clerk in Boone, NC

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Busy, so you don't have to think a ton. Repetitive work with enough variety/different things to focus on.

    Cons

$13/hour (pro), but not worth it due to constantly having things added on and having closing times pushed forward by an hour with only an extra half hour added to the shift is unreasonable/unrealistic. Un-empathic manager listens, then does nothing but say she used to be a closer and understands it, but that is clearly not the case. Same un-empathic manager has told a co-worker to not cry on the clock and to pull it together quicker, even though she is the reason said-employee was crying after being berated despite being the best employee there. If you have chronic pain, this is definitely not a position you should consider. If you need consistent, dependable hours/bills to pay, this is also not a position you should consider because everyone is started out as part-time and even if you're a dependable employee after almost a year, you'll still have your hours cut by almost half to accommodate new trainees that do not stay half the time.

    Pros

At Lowes Foods you could get an employee discount on Lowes Foods items.

    Cons

The discount cannot be applied to food items that are not of the Lowes Foods brand. Likewise some co-workers can be very frustrating.
