Pros
It always depends on your team, but so far I have been surrounded by wonderful people that are here to uplift me and make sure I thrive in a friendly and positive work environnement. Competitive salaries and really good perks as well (insurance, gym membership, paid vacations, paid personal mobile days, access to dialogue, to name a few) and the HR team seems proactive.
Cons
It's corporate ; it doesn't have to be a con for you, but if like me you're not a fan of all that comes with working with a relatively big company, you're gonna feel it once in a while. Overall, you can ignore most of it, though.

Good place to start your career
Oct 3, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Opportunities to take on new responsibilities and teach yourself a lot. - Relaxed working environment and decent perks. - Good business vision from CEO. - Successful entertainment IPs that you could care about and will look good on your portfolio.
Cons
- Big gaps between employees in terms of commitment and self-motivation. - In-house technology is a bit limited currently, especially compared to commercial engines - although you can have a real shot at improving it if you are a programmer. - Tendency to let organization/human problems worsen, due to hypocrisy and indulgence. - Very few actual seniors and experienced managers to learn from.
Continue readingThanks for your constructive input. Although the work atmosphere and perks are important things, the well-being and growth of our employees are even more so. The latter is however a long term investment, which we are making progress on on a daily basis. We are also looking to evolve our management structure, all while keeping it lean.

Good place to start but if you're experienced seek a company that will challenge you and pay you what you're worth.

Ludia is a good place if you seek a good work/life balance. Relaxed work environment with small teams where you can get to know each other and have a say in the direction of the game. Many nice perks like free nearby gym membership, many launch parties, free online tutorials, salad lunch every two weeks, fruit, bread, coffee and tea. Nice studio with plenty of break opportunities like a ping pong table, pool table, games room and a super nice lounge. 3 weeks vacation plus a week off during the Christmas holidays.
Cons
Salary. They like to say they offer competitive salaries but I think they mean this as competitive with start ups to small companies. Simply put underpaid talent will move to where their skills are paid appropriately no matter how nice the perks or work environment may be. This simply isn't about being slightly less pay but significant to the tune of 10k+ lower than average. Unfortunately the annual reviews where raises are issued don't improve the situation much. Expect raises of 2-3% of your already low salary. Promotion is very difficult and in some ways probably done so to not offer a higher salary. Technology used in the games makes it very difficult to get the desired results. Projects vary but in general majority of projects are not challenging to work on or impressive enough to add to your portfolio. For some projects you may find your talent going to waste. Too few sick days.

Thanks for your review. We try our best to pay competitive salaries since we are often up against competing offers. This said, and as you mentioned in your comments, we offer many other perks to our employees, which are also considered as employee benefits, in addition to salary and standard employee benefits. The global compensation at Ludia is one of the most competitive in the industry. We are also working on further improving our internal mobility.

Good company to work at

Lots of perks and benefits. If you're proactive about your career, they give you lots of opportunities to learn.
Cons
It was demoralizing to work on games that got shut down when they didn't monetize soon enough, but that's the nature of the industry.

Pros
Ludia offers good perks and benefits, but thats pretty much it and this app has a 20 word minimum so Im struggling to fill this because my experience there was terrible
Cons
During the hiring process I was told over and over how transparent everyone was and how much they valued good communication, but after I was hired I saw that it was really the opposite. seems they hired more then one person for my position under the guise of a full time permanent job and then chose out of us after that, and I was fired after only one month. during that month, I was given virtually no training or instructions about what was expected of me, I worked on more then one team and communication was non-existent on both teams. I was never made to feel welcome and people were actually mean and cold. I was not even given a clear reason or any details about why they fired me either, just that my work was not the level they expected, problem was that no one ever told me exactly what they expected. even when I asked for specifics, they also were not open to any suggestions or ideas, seems they dont want people to show initiative.

Overall great place to work
Aug 18, 2020 - Community Manager in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great team vibe, small enough to get to know everyone and communication is easier. Good benefits and perks, HR is very attentive to employee needs .
Cons
Job level tiers can sometimes be arbitrarily defined depending on the position.
