I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is growing fast. Significant investment in people over the last 18 months. A place where you can build a long career.

    Cons

A little out of the way for a pharma company. Siloed culture within functions

    Advice to Management

Keep building, this is going to be good

I worked at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Majority of the people are good.

    Cons

Luitpold is not equipped in medical affairs to operate. Current CMO is not qualified for her role. Would be better served in R&D. Medical Affairs is not her strength. Very focused on her own success and not the success of her team or company.

No new drugs coming for medical affairs to remain independent. No resources to be successful. Mixed talent. Some are very experienced while others have no experience outside of American Regent so things stay stagnant.

    Advice to Management

Separate Luitpold into generics and animal health. Allow brand to go under DSI. Allow DSI to manage brand under DSI and things will improve. Should not be two different companies under the same Japanese management.

I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

401k 6% matching, bonuses, profit sharing. 15 PTO days at the beginning of the year plus 4 personal days throughout the year. Good place to start, but don't stay long.

    Cons

Hourly pay is significantly below average. Company wastes money by constantly hiring consultants and creating new positions to pay people more money for a job they aren't qualified for. Employee retention is horrible. No room to move or grow. Huge disparities in salary even for the same job type. PLAYING POLITICS.

    Advice to Management

Be more open and honest. Pay people what they are worth. And stop hiring other outside people to tell you what you're doing wrong. Listen to your employees that have been loyal to you. They see every day what works and what doesn't. Leave middle and upper management out of it-they're clueless. 10 minutes on glassdoor would even help.

    Pros

Loved my job! Not the environment.
    Good benefits
    A few really great people
Starting to move out of the IT Stone Age and implement current technology.

    Cons

Technology is like stepping back into 1980’s Pharma. Silos are everywhere! Nothing gets done because of the silos. They allow a few people who are really bad actors to treat others openly with disrespect. Bad behavior is tolerated and there is a definite lack of current regulation understanding.

    Advice to Management

Clean house! You know who the bad actors are, now do something about it. Stop the workplace bullying and make an effort to retain the good staff. Tear down the silos so work can progress. Bring in outside training.

    Pros

It will be a good company of you have the proper management .good salaries .

    Cons

favoritism is all over the place. Hard worker employees are abused and bullied . some supervisors have no idea what they are doing, others dont even show to work and when they do spend the night chatting instead taking care department needs. Needs alot improvement.very unfair environment.

    Advice to Management

You need to hire leaders that will fix the place.

I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some very nice, helpful people. Company is doing well and has a bright future. The new CEO, Ken Keller, appears to be exactly the type of person you'd want leading your company. Ken is making improvements that I, as an employee, really appreciate and notice.

    Cons

Many people in upper and middle management have absolutely no business being employed by Luitpold. That is not a spiteful or frustrated statement--there are people that genuinely impede the progress of the company. It doesn't exist in every department, but there is a culture of blame and politically motivated childish actions/opinions.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about politics--the best companies are completely open and honest with each other.
