I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

very good bonus and profit sharing. Company has really started growing. Employees are helpful. Good opportunity for good employees. I was promoted rather easily.

    Cons

no complaints but more parking would be nice

    Advice to Management

the extra bonus was very nice.

I worked at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Shannondell is close by. Explore your retirement options.

    Cons

Alot of " bad behavior " from employees tolerated by their superiors/upper management. No suprise there since they ( upper management) set the tone.

    Advice to Management

None. It would fall on deaf ears.

I worked at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy product and therapeutic area to understand. I don't have any other positives to add.

    Cons

The medical affairs department is an absolute mess. The company's practices are outdated, and they are unreceptive to new ideas. Being located in Shirley, NY is probably restrictive to them acquiring the best talent. VERY high turnover rate. Many of the employees often referred to this company as a "stepping stone" to get your foot in the door for pharma or a specific role within the industry, then move on to better opportunities.

    Advice to Management

When employees tell you they need more resources to perform their jobs efficiently, listen! Stop making employees share hotel rooms during company meetings, it's tacky.

    Pros

the Troops are nice, try hard to do the right thing

    Cons

A few good managers, the others are more interested in absurd political power games which causes the company to lose good folks or cause others to "give up"....communication is pure fiction when it actually occurs....salary is a laugh riot..most of the infrastructure should be in the "Smithsonian" antiques departments...

    Advice to Management

company motto for the troops should be "we who have nothing and get almost nothing are expected to accomplish everything yesterday".. management should fire itself...

I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

Company with good products, and job stability.

    Cons

management does not do anything to encourage employees to increase their skill set. Preference for micromanagement instead of appropriate delegation. Salaries lower than industry averages.

    Advice to Management

Focus on improving communication, encourage employee training and development. Reduce micromanagement.

I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not very many pros. The people who work here are nice. There is a 401k plan and bonus plan if company does well.

    Cons

Too many to list. Lack of resources and cost cutting is the main focus. Not a professional environment. Company has outdated infrastructure. CEO favoritism is the culture. People work in silos.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and replace senior management with people who have industry experience. Most people have been here for more than 20 yrs. and never worked at another pharmaceutical company.

I have been working at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The new bonus plan is quite decent. People are somewhat nice (mostly).

    Cons

The pay is abysmal. PTO and sick days are taken from the allotted 15 days. Constant employee turnover to the point an entire team is replaced. Too much office drama and politics, and coworkers sneaking behind your back just to get you in trouble for any small reason. Management favoring certain departments over others (the majority of the building is catered to chemistry, leaving micro with a tiny, cramped lab). Rampant nepotism, outdated equipment prone to malfunctions and aging facilities, and absolutely zero opportunity for growth or promotions unless you have a degree (but even then not so much).

    Advice to Management

Stop department favoritism, increase salary, allow at least some opportunity for growth, and quit being cheap.

    Pros

Lots of people will just lie about others for favor and lots of supervisors have their own police to watch over people they do not like especially in the New Albany Ohio Plant. Insurance is the highest I have ever seen in chemical industry. It's all about favoritism, knowing how to lie about other employees and pretending to be working but doing nothing except for sitting in a supervisors office and telling non existing stories. Don't quit your job for this company doesn't worth the risk at all. No raises at all and when you do complain, you will be asked to quit or be fired by so senior supervisor.

    Cons

Pretend to be working like any other person at the facility. There are people there doing nothing at all and getting paid just for walking around.

    Advice to Management

Executive Management should do undercover job to know what is actually going on at the New Albany Plant in Ohio. There are just few serious Managers in Administration but those responsible for manufacturing are jokers . They fight and argue all the time and some of them don't even know why they are there or which position they occupy. Management wasting money hiring wrong inexperience supervisors due to cheap pay rate.

    Pros

Nice people who genuinely care about their role

    Cons

The President is the absolute worst leader I have encountered in my 20 year career. No leadership, No business ethics or foresight. Terrible working culture with a lack of chain of command, or support. Salaries are not industry standard. I guess you can not expect much when the President/CEO was an Admin Assistant and then became President. Uneducated leaders

    Advice to Management

Clean out all of upper Management
