I have been working at Lullabot

    Pros

Lullabot seriously is a lot of fun. They treat you like an adult, are open with almost *everything*, and you get to work on some of the coolest projects on the web. Working remotely is nice, too. You very rarely ever have to take off sick days, and if your kid is sick, well that's just fine.

    Cons

Not being able to do pair programming, I guess.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Lullabot for more than 8 years

    Pros

Like any services company, there are interesting projects and "pay the bills projects," but Lullabot has a long track record of carefully choosing who it works with and protecting its employees from the worst of "crazy client-itis." When crunch times come, they're treated as a failure of planning rather than a job requirement; and careful, steady growth has helped it avoid the boom-bust cycles that plague a lot of agencies...

    Cons

Although the company offers a lot of support and educational opportunities for employees, there's no formal mentoring or training program. Combined with the 100% distributed team, it can make growth and personal development difficult for anyone who's not used to proactive communication and a degree of self-direction.

I have been working at Lullabot full-time

    Pros

Working from home for a company that goes out of it's way to support you in all endeavors and make sure you're "taken care of" is one of the most rewarding things I've ever experienced. Talented people who really care for one another and the standard of work that they share keep me coming back for more year after year. This is a dream job for me, and even when I wish I were working on something else, I can't bring myself...

    Cons

Services work can wax and wane and sometimes there are ups and downs in the amount of work available, but Lullabot still takes care of us as best they can. Not seeing other co-workers in person can be a problem for some people, and you really have to be self-motivated and self-directed, but this leads to a lot of freedom and respect, both from your peers and management.

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive for openness and maintain your values.

I have been working at Lullabot full-time

    Pros

Working at Lullabot allows you to do interesting and challenging work with some of the brightest and most talented people in the industry while enjoying a fantastic company culture, great benefits, and wonderful work-life balance. There is no compliment that I could give Lullabot as an employer that would be overstating how great it is to work for them.

    Cons

Some people may find working remotely or needing to occasionally travel challenging, but for other people this is a great arrangement.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!
