I have been working at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, low health care rates, great vacation pto arrivals rate, non retail hours, new management is operational focused giving stability to stores, small staffing model, sales driven culture, people oriented, trainings is par, , outlook is positive

    Cons

Labor intensive, communication of company can be deflected or ignored by regional manager, company management and support is inexperienced, margin is more important than customer satisfaction due to customer expect more with brand name and advertising. Name brand is misleading.

    Advice to Management

Brand and name needs to be reworked to align with company. Liquidators is not focused on margin but on sales. Customer seem to loose disconnection of value vs price.

I have been working at Lumber Liquidators full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The family oriented feel of the company is undeniable. The store to store communication is something I have yet to experience anywhere else. It's a "get the job done, while having fun" type of experience.

    Cons

The schedule can be a little hectic, but the paycheck definitely makes up for it.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

I have been working at Lumber Liquidators full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been working with Lumber Liquidators close to a year and learned a lot of things that I didn't with my all last jobs. My manager, supervisor and co-workers are very helpful and nice. Also opportunity to grow up with this company.

    Cons

    Nothing except health insurance

    Advice to Management

Keep on eye your employees and check their work performance in regular basis so that if they require more training 😁

I have been working at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Growth is great, job is challenging, and a lot of travel. Entrepreneurship and "own it" mentality is important to the company.

    Cons

A lot of hours, high comp plans, and constant changing of expectations. Lack of training so the learning curve can take a while.

    Advice to Management

Staff stores with more people, have better training program, and more development of managers.

I worked at Lumber Liquidators (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was a great company to work for while I was there. One of the best benefits is you get paid weekly. If you like interacting with customers and you are good at sales then this is a good job for you to have. You also get a bonus once a month based on the amount you sold. Being an ASM2 I received 7 percent.

    Cons

One of the biggest cons I had while working with the company was the long hours. You really don't have any family time because most of the time you might work 6 days a week especially if the staff isn't full. Overtime was good but expect long hours weekly.

    Advice to Management

Keep a full staff and limit the hours to 40 a week and let the employees choose whether or not they would like to work overtime.

Nothing to say... because couldn't find anything yet

    Advice to Management

Please keep your level to advance

I worked at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay, flexibility, benefits. If you are not an experienced leader the Store Manager position may feel overwhelming. However if you can develop your staff and plan ahead it becomes a fun and eventful workplace. Very little stress, "big box" vs. LL… LL every time. Become and stay efficient = easy job.

    Cons

If you do not like physical labor you won't like this job as a store associate or store management. Otherwise sell wood!

    Advice to Management

Hold everyone accountable to store standards and company initiatives.

I have been working at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lumber has a very relaxed atmosphere of people who just want to get work done. You have a lot of freedom to try new things. Due to the small size of the IT department you are also able to be involved in many facets of the business.

    Cons

The IT department is very small for the demands placed on the group. There are a lot of people that know a lot about retail but not as much about technology.

    Advice to Management

Have a way for people to be promoted that isn't a management track.

I worked at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Managers make 70k plus while every one else is underpaid.

    Cons

LOOOONG hours and in most cases only 3 employees per store.

    Advice to Management

Sell company to Armstrong or a similar competitor and get rid of the LL name as it is associated with cancer causing formaldehyde.
