Constant RIFs, Upper management really has no idea/lacks resources to fix the many issues which cripple the company. Worst commission structure in the business.

Under Qwest and CenturyLink there was a lot of opportunity for all employees
Cons
After Level 3 took over the upper management only former Level 3 employees could be in upper management and other key positions. Recently former Qwest employees have been laid off or left for other positions at a very high rate.

- Secretive layoffs - Minimal career advancement due to continuous layoffs and restructuring - No longer provide annual salary adjustment / living increase. Any salary increases is subjective to upper management. - The culture of losing your job next if your not in one of the key city locations

Volume of work, upper management has a very "old school" mindset. On call rotation which can get extremely annoying and stressful due to managing damages that sometimes take 8-12 hours.
