I worked at Lumension Security full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Director-level people and below were nearly all great. Product is pretty cool, and subject matter experts were really knowledgeable about some very interesting stuff.

    Cons

Former exec team was toxic, to say the least. I hope the current exec team is better, but after leaving I heard only negatives. To be fair, it's been a while since I checked in.

I have been working at Lumension Security (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really friendly Managers, VPs and colleagues. Can easily strike up a conversation with anyone without worrying about the professional hierarchy. Great place to work and learn.

    Cons

Once you're done with your work, it's pretty repetitive. Also huge office with very less people. Travel commute takes up most of the time.

I worked at Lumension Security full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small perks like covered parking, coffee, catered lunches once in a while.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities for job growth, management has their own agenda. Revolving door at all levels; 3 CEO's in one year. Most senior employees that were there when I started have left. Company morale is ever sinking.

    Advice to Management

Stop doing the cut and run, just sell the company already and move everything to Seattle like half of it is already.

I have been working at Lumension Security full-time

    Pros

The people here are pleasant and a joy to work with. The building is beautiful and has complimentary soda, coffee, catered lunches every other Wednesday and flexible work schedules. The ability to work on new technologies in engineering is refreshing and allows for professional growth. The new CEO(John Ferron) is very open with as much information is legally possible without being just fluff. This is a huge improvement over the previous carryover CEO from NetMotion. The ability to move up is available for those actively seeking it. New benefits are much better with 401K match and better PTO policy.

    Cons

A clear vision is actively being constructed for long term growth. Near term future is more clear but that only accounts for the next year. Movement majority of business operation to NetMotion in Seattle has been a tough transition since July 2014 but adjustment is going more smooth lately. New PTO policy is nice but could always be better.

    Advice to Management

Treat your existing employees like gold. Be flexible with working hours and dont track time that people are in their seats v. working from home or away from the computer. Get a long term plan established and communicated out. Have more contact from C level executives to employees.

I have been working at Lumension Security full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

For the most part it's a friendly environment.

    Cons

The work can be very challenging at times and the Pay is OK but not great.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at other departments besides Sales and Engineering - they are not the (Only) employees who drive revenue!!!

I have been working at Lumension Security full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Talented co-workers and very pleasant to work with. The pay and benefits are great. The Scottsdale office is also very nice with catered lunches every other week.

    Cons

Very low morale. Most people joke about when they are getting laid off, but you can tell there is a hint of them being serious. Extremely slow management, decisions are pushed back months at a time. The departments are running skeleton crews, doing the tasks of 2 to 3 people. Most projects turn into a hurry up and wait scenario, be prepared to stay late on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

First of all, speak to your employees, you'll be surprised how many people are looking to run out the door. The constant revolving door of executive management doesn't help either. Hire more staff to back-fill the people that left. Have managers that can actually manage, not delegate all of their management duties to the team.
