I worked at Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Loved working here- the employees and the people we served were fantastic! I have stayed connected to past employees and the CEO of the local chapter since I left.

    Cons

Low salary and limited benefits. There was a lot of new exciting ideas but some colleagues were not open to change so ideas would fall flat.

    Advice to Management

Embrace change and push the budget!

I have been working at Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Office location right off 95 in a nice building (Florida). Large office space for small group. Networking with other companies and individuals. Helping others. Work as a team a lot. 2 weeks vacation, 5 sick days.

    Cons

No benefits. Non profit pay is LOW. Working weekends/nights for walks, programs, or other events (but not too much). Only 3-4 full time and 2 part time (if you're looking for small then this would be a pro).

I have been working at Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. full-time

    Pros

I Completed this internship for my program for my university. The work was rewarding but sometimes redundant. You will enjoy this position if you like program planning, event coordinating, fundraising and an interest in public health.

    Cons

Work can be boring some days but it needs to be done. Other days are very busy.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people you are working for are amazing and inspirational. The organization is also small enough that you really get to make a difference while there.

    Cons

There is a lot of micromanagement and the national office doesn't know how to work with the different chapters. Because of this, the chapters do not have the support from the national office that would be beneficial.

    Advice to Management

Trust the employees you hire. You selected them for a reason, but not allowing them to complete their work, or second guessing choices, and not empowering them to make decisions does not help the employees succeed.
