I worked at Lutron full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good opportunity to start a career. Gave opportunities to learn.

    Cons

Salary is on the low side. Management acts like a 5% raise with a promotion is like having to bend over backwards. Same goes with the 1% bonus. Very weird family dynamic, promotions based on who you know not how well you preform. Growth is very limited for long term.

    Advice to Management

Accept you are a growing company. It's time to cut ways with the family run style it's hurting more than it's benefiting. Need to start anazlying how you treat all employees coming from college not just engineering. Either need to accept your just a stepping stone or provide more opportunity for long term growth with the company.

I worked at Lutron as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of great learning opportunities and responsibilities for young engineers. Most people are very willing to help however they can. Overall good company atmosphere.

    Cons

Often times management is blind to the time and funding requirements of some of the engineering projects. There is some pressure to deliver products yesterday and under budget.

    Advice to Management

Management is all about "listening to the customer," which can be a great mantra. However it sometimes leaves a hole in the "listen to the employee" area.

    Pros

Lots of overtime, multiple positions to move into and also good with retirements plans with profit sharing and annual bonuses.

    Cons

The company tends to force overtime even though it isn't always wanted. Long hours and tend to change time of work frequently.

    Advice to Management

Keep innovating and getting more effective with productions so you can start giving the employees some time off with their families.

    Pros

    Cons

No leadership and if you are not an engineer, you will not have support guidance or encouragement. You have hit the ceiling on climbing in the company.
