I have been working at Luvata full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work life balance is excellent. No micromanaging when you do a good job. Excellent pay for the region.

    Cons

Little training, little structure, can often be fly by the seat of your pants.

    Advice to Management

    Invest time in your staff.

I worked at Luvata full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    good pay.
most workers are good people and the culture, while a bit old fashioned if you're coming from the tech world, is pretty good in most of the company I saw.
honestly if you get a chance to take a position in any other department you'll do pretty well. I hear engineering is overworked but gets you good experience.

    Cons

from what I understand if you take this role you will be one of the something like eleven people to be in this position. Average length of employment is a year. Record is two.

Do what I wasn't smart enough to do. Listen to all the one star ratings on glass door.

    Advice to Management

you know what you should do.

I have been working at Luvata full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The coatings division, which I work for, is growing at an incredible pace and as of this writing is about to be sold off to Modene. There are many people retiring and new plants and processes being built if you can get in and stick it out there are chances for upward mobility if you can get into the office.

    Cons

The company is so focused on technology driven solutions that they forget about the people. They are perpetually understaffed or bringing in temps who do sub par labor. They expect everyone to wear nine hats and will pull everyone in for overtime when they over promise to their customers. They invest in everything but their people.

    Advice to Management

Start investing more in the people that make your product move. Nothing will return more to your product or your community than putting good hands on your product.

    Pros

The first few months were great. Work environment was welcoming and hospitable. I could do no wrong. My ideas were well-received. Everyone seemed to be happy. When it came time for action, management was having none of it. Don't dare call them on it.

    Cons

Once settled, I started getting resistance to even the most basic approaches. Concepts I spoke of to "wow" interviewers were no longer to be mentioned. No one wanted to do anything any differently than they had been for the last 30 years. Resistance quickly turned to obvious contempt.

    Advice to Management

Enjoy the ride while it lasts?

I worked at Luvata full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Can't think of any. Just laid back and no one knows whats going on.

    Cons

Upper management does not have any idea about what id really going on there or who is doing what. The middle management is just taking all credit for any good work and software; and any problems are blamed on the people who are actually doing the work.

    Advice to Management

Who is in charge of what? Who did what? And who Really did what? Who is not doing anything for Luvata, REALLY? Wake up!!!

    Pros

It is a large company with good benefits. Comfortable work environment and lots of good people in all departments.

    Cons

Lack of connection between departments. Poor planning and communication. Lack of direction from upper management as well as a lack of commitment to employee and new business development.

    Advice to Management

Abandon the antiquated management style of last century and embrace modern technology.

    Pros

The worst experience with incoming management I have ever had. They don't care about anybody

    Cons

They put you through the grinder

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Luvata full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some good and sincere people among the hourly workforce. They work hard to achieve results. Many paid holidays and good amount of vacation time.

    Cons

Poor communication between departments, between management and employees. Hugh gap between management and lower level employees. Poor leadership and trustworthiness.

    Advice to Management

Communication and integrity when dealing with your employees. Most people in the plant rated management as only concerned with making their own big bonuses at any cost to the workforce. Managers keep getting more and hourly workers and lower level salary getting less.
