    I worked at Luxottica full-time

    Pros

Promotions are based on nepotism. Great place to work while in school and learn a little about optical, but not the technicalities, since the frame fitting and lens measurements are digitally done for you.
Great place for entry level Opticians, while you seek a better job, and I believe they reimburse for the ABOC and NCLE if you get it after you are highered.

    Cons

    Promotions are based on nepotism.
Get out of Opticianry and become a nurse. Nurses are in demand with the increasing age of the baby boomers and the older nurses coming close to retirement age. This field is flooded with people doing optical and anyone can do it these days with the digital technology that LensCrafters has incorporated in their lens fitting. The pay is not lucritive. You may start as low as 12 an hour. Don't ask for less than that. Everyone should ask for at least 15 an hour. It would help us all out. The less you work for though, means someone with a higher pay will be let go.
Get your bachelor's in management if you want to climb in this field. They hire Managers from Victoria's Secret and other retail shops before they promote Opticians or other employees to management. They do not promote inside if they can find someone outside with leadership skills. I remember they kept on recruiting people from The Body Shoparts to be Eyewear Consultants. They're about sales and not necessarily looking for people with Optical experience. But the glasses come out fine because they have digital technology to do the measurements for you.

    Advice to Management

Do what the company tells you is best.
    Hone your management skills.

I worked at Luxottica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot think of any pros this company only has regards for their managers as they support each other to eat up all the bonuses they can get

    Cons

10 hour shifts with no break ! No regard from managers to reward hard work they expect you to do their work then they criticize your effort. Hated every second of my job with an angry manager that yelled and belittled me and terrorized all the staff yet was rewarded by fellow managers with bonuses and praise

    Advice to Management

Better HR department that can break the corrupt management circle so so glad to be out of your company I am sorry to say I'm closing this chapter in my life and consider your company as worse experience!
