    Nice additional income

Apr 3, 2018 - Driver in Oceanside, CA

    Pros

Work when you want. Business write offs. Meet great people.

    Cons

Not really that busy in Oceanside, CA except early morning 2am-10am or after 3pm during the week. Advice, don't take rides that are line and if they are 10+ mins away. Large learning curve knowing the best times to start to make more money per hour. I average $15-40 an hour. Just depends how long a drive or how busy you are.

    Pros

Your time and schedule is yours

    Cons

Too much time (60+ hours a week) and miles on your car to make decent money.

Go ahead and slowly sell your car to this greedy company

    Pros

Flexible schedule that is Ali can think of,but you work to make money, not to give cheap ride for strangers

    Cons

Not enough pay, you are basically driving for about $1 per mile. Out of 15 rides,I get one $1 tip. That's right. And prime time is rather tricky and confusing. This 'job' does not worth your time and wear and tear of your vehicle.

    Terrrible Company

Sep 26, 2017 - Driver in Newark, NJ

    Pros

The job allows the opportunity for flexibility

    Cons

No accountability from passengers. Passengers will lie on drivers just to get their charges deducted or for free rides. Lyft doesn't care about their drivers. It anything happens the drivers are automatically blamed for it even if it isn't the driver's fault. The fares are extremely low making it hard to actually earn a decent amount of money. They don't take taxes out which creates problems because if you aren't familiar with a 1099, you may wind up owing a lot of taxes. The experience is not worth it. Customers will take advantage and go to two different destinations and when you looked to get compensated, you get nothing. Ive even been sexually fondled while giving a ride to someone going to Jersey City. WORK FOR UBER ! NOT THIS COMPANY!

If someone hits your car, LYFT will deactivate YOU!

Aug 20, 2018 - Driver in Los Angeles, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

None really. I thought Uber would be worse, it’s not.

    Cons

No support. If someone rear ends of, Lyft is going to deactivate you. Lyft will deactivate you before a police report is written. When they deactivate you, they no longer respond. They try to fool you into thinking you can make good money and ya on your own time. LIE! They basically put you on a schedule and imply that if you want to get bonuses, you need to go out when THEY tell you to! They demonize Uber but you definitely make more money with Uber, less tips, but more money.

    Great company to drive for

Jul 26, 2013 - Driver in San Francisco, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, easy scheduling interface, great support team. It's a great way to make your car holistically useful to the community at large while making good money. The smartphone integrated system is easy, thoughtfully designed and fast.

    Cons

Almost all communication with support and management is via email and text message so if you're not comfortable with communicating almost exclusively via tech this may not be the job for you.

    Used to be better

Feb 7, 2016 - Driver in Boston, MA

    Pros

    Flexible hours, good company vibe.

    Cons

Too many changes in pay and it seems to be getting harder for drivers to make money. Income is not stable and prone to season changes.

Its a fun part time job.

Oct 8, 2014 - Driver in Phoenix, AZ

    Pros

Easy flexible schedule. You meet a lot of interesting people that can provide an interesting work experience. It keeps you on your toes.

    Cons

It comes and goes. Management does not care how many drivers there are. This is good for the passenger but it is not good if you want to make money.
