Pros
Your time and schedule is yours
Cons
Too much time (60+ hours a week) and miles on your car to make decent money.

Go ahead and slowly sell your car to this greedy company
Oct 14, 2014 - Driver in Chicago, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flexible schedule that is Ali can think of,but you work to make money, not to give cheap ride for strangers
Cons
Not enough pay, you are basically driving for about $1 per mile. Out of 15 rides,I get one $1 tip. That's right. And prime time is rather tricky and confusing. This 'job' does not worth your time and wear and tear of your vehicle.

Pros
Flexible hours. Great way to learn best routes through a city. Good for extra cash if you time the driving hours well
Cons
Full time driving does not make you much money and puts a lot of miles on the car. Their customer service is horrible. If you ever have an issue, it's best to just accept the bad, otherwise you will waste a bunch of time chatting with someone who will pretend to care but never solve a problem. You must accept all service animals, but can't ask if an animal is really a service animal, so you must accept all animals. Being allergic to animals will not allow you an exception from that rule.

If someone hits your car, LYFT will deactivate YOU!
Aug 20, 2018 - Driver in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
None really. I thought Uber would be worse, it’s not.
Cons
No support. If someone rear ends of, Lyft is going to deactivate you. Lyft will deactivate you before a police report is written. When they deactivate you, they no longer respond. They try to fool you into thinking you can make good money and ya on your own time. LIE! They basically put you on a schedule and imply that if you want to get bonuses, you need to go out when THEY tell you to! They demonize Uber but you definitely make more money with Uber, less tips, but more money.

Great company to drive for
Jul 26, 2013 - Driver in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flexible scheduling, easy scheduling interface, great support team. It's a great way to make your car holistically useful to the community at large while making good money. The smartphone integrated system is easy, thoughtfully designed and fast.
Cons
Almost all communication with support and management is via email and text message so if you're not comfortable with communicating almost exclusively via tech this may not be the job for you.

Good but not enough demand
Feb 18, 2023 - Premium Rideshare Driver in Washington, DCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Premium rides are good and you can make money faster but there is not enough demand...
Cons
Car depression, gas prices and net pay can be very low after expenses.

Pros
You don't have a boss to report to and can take time off whenever.
Cons
Some times it's slow and you won't make as much money as you would on other days.
- Current Freelancer, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Flexible hours, good company vibe.
Cons
Too many changes in pay and it seems to be getting harder for drivers to make money. Income is not stable and prone to season changes.

Pros
Freedom to work on your schedule
Cons
Sometimes it's slow and money doesn't come in fast enough for it to be worth driving.

Pros
Easy flexible schedule. You meet a lot of interesting people that can provide an interesting work experience. It keeps you on your toes.
Cons
It comes and goes. Management does not care how many drivers there are. This is good for the passenger but it is not good if you want to make money.
