I worked at Lyft full-time for more than a year

    Pros

all kinds of people,I made my own hours,Being my own boss,Doing what i love....driving,being able to listen to music all day

    Cons

Being stuck in traffic,Peoples criticism,if its ones only source of income..it can be taken away in a heartbeat if someone didn't have a good experience and embelishes the negative parts of their trip to where you get put on probation and lyft does not even investigate the drivers side of an issue.Long trips that don't pay out, having to split your fares three ways and still have gas money, riders refusing to exit my vehicle when the trip was over, unwanted male advances or attention, drunk people, impatient riders when you may just be getting adapted to a new area and a passenger cancels on you

I worked at Lyft for less than a year

    Pros

Make your own hours - that is all

    Cons

Lyft takes all their revenue and places it on the backs of the drivers. You are charged for their service (really is non existent). Here are their charges against you per ride: "lyft platform fee" (passengers paid lyft but we are taxed on them as income); "service fee" (charged to rider but driver pays the taxes - sound like the first one?) ; "third party fees" (mystery fees that I am sure they pocket and again charge the driver in taxes). Not really sure that lyft pays anything in taxes as the driver pays them all for them, quite a racket really! Add gas, wear and tear on your car (younger people will understand this later in life) and general cleaning of your vehicle due to filthy riders. on more than one occasion I was sent to pickup to find the rider was in a different city with the same road name, twice for that, a few times for a rider that had already been picked up by another driver etc. lyft does not pay when THEY mess up so you lost money on fake riders! Short mileage passengers so you make very little of those rides as it cost more to even get there to pick them up. All in all at the end of it I paid more into it than I earned. government needs to look into the ride share and food delivery companies as there is really something fraudulent about all of them. there is 0 none zilch way to contact the "main" office as there is no phone number to all. You email them with an issue they ignore it and only send some bad replies having nothing to do with the issue reported. Drivers need to unionize as the "company" puts all their income on the backs of the drivers who make nothing due to wear and tear on cars, gas costs and cleaning after disgusting passengers stink up or dirty your car.

I have been working at Lyft for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule, able to cash out when available

    Cons

They switch passenger's without notice, they stop your profile from getting rides. They side with passengers whom lie, they treat drivers like they don't matter or their car. If you on app nd have an accident Lyft will not pay for your medical treatment. They will low ball you.

I have been working at Lyft for more than a year

    Pros

Get a car to use for personal & business at your own leisure without paying for insurance or maintenance. Start or stop from wherever-whenever. Have an opportunity to make as much or little you want because with the express drive program the more rides you do the more bonuses you can make, etc.

    Cons

Paying for gas & driving in ridiculous traffic constantly sucks! ...especially in congested super EXPENSIVE for no reason Los Angeles. If you’re time management sucks being your own boss could be a hinderance especially if you lack the discipline to work all morning, afternoon, evening and night. The passengers don’t smell too pleasant MAJORITY of the time because they’re traveling, just got off from work or don’t practice good hygiene and you sitting in close quarters with people you don’t know who want to talk loud or sit upfront when the back is empty or request chargers or talk crazy to you like you’re a slave because they're white & privileged or get attitudes or complain about petty nonsense or just get on your nerves or even worse lie on you and get you deactivated by the trust & safety team, etc. Oh and it’s very strain full to sit repetitively uncomfortably making turns and moving ankles on pedals your body will always be sore somewhere. Forearms, hamstrings, wrists, calves...... it’s not a way to make a living it’s a last resort to survive if you have no other options.

I worked at Lyft for more than a year

    Pros

    Flexibility, work whenever you can.

    Cons

Low pay, you are responsible for your taxes, gas, wear and tear on your car. It is an extremely dangerous job since being in traffic long hours, you're exposed to being involved in an accident, risking personal injury and even death for you and or your passengers. Also, Lyft acts like a god and can suspend or deactivate you at any moment due to any anonymous complaint. You gave no recourse. So people ask: If it's so bad why don't you do something else? Answer: desperation and financial despair.
